· Quote

Right, this may or may not be bogus, but I'm willing to bet it's probably true.  The guys over at gambitguild.com found this, I take no credit for it. They've quoted Wikipedia, which says:

Spoiler:

Chapter 5: X-Men #205

Madrox and Layla are figuring out a way to enter the mutant internment camp. The X-Men attack the Marauders, with added help from Emma Frost. Wolverine threatens Gambit into telling him who has the mutant child. He jams his claws into Gambit's stomach until Gambit gives up a name. Meanwhile, X-23 and Rockslide damage Lady Deathstrike's new Reavers until Pixie can teleport the students and Rictor away. Unfortunately, the team is scattered across the country. Iceman volunteers to go search for them, but the shock of the students' transport distracted Emma enough that she lost contact with the team. Bishop arrives at the mansion at Cyclops' behest. When the X-Men begin to lose the fight, Storm covers Nightcrawler and Wolverine's escape. At the X-Mansion, the Sentinels' programming is corrupted and they begin to attack the X-Men. Meanwhile, Cable is revealed to be alive...and he has the mutant baby girl with him. The story is ongoing.

I've checked the wikipedia page and this doesn't seem to be there anymore.  Probably marvel spotted it and took it down.  It sounds pretty acurate, guys, I'm willing to bet it's true.  Not good.  I know that Carey is a great writer, and he seems to really know Gambit well, but come on, man!  He's only really displayed his true personality in issue 200.  Since then he's kind of a stupid henchman.

I'm going to withhold any judgment on the issue until I hold the issue in my hand and read it myself (or see a synopsis from someone who has read it). Wiki is great but a lot of crap gets posted up there, especially since you can't tell the source.

I'm also going to withhold any judgment on what is going on with Gambit until I see the end of the crossover. For all we know (if this is accurate) Gambit could be playing both sides against the other or have an ulterior motive.

Gambit still has a part to play, they said he would and somehow I doubt they will take him out in the first half.

That kinda shows us that it's probably true.  I'm not a fan of spoilers so I didn't look at all the pictures, so you can all decide for yourselves.

I know that Gambit probably wont kick the bucket, but it's not nice to see him get beaten so badly by Wolverine. Again. Wolverine, of all people.  And that he gives up the info so easily...it's just not right.

It could be part of his plan though... lure one of the X-Men away to give them some information that they wouldn't have had otherwise. He probably wasn't counting on Wolvie gutting him (although if he does need to make it look like it's real and he's still on Sinister's side that's a good way to go about it).

Well, to be fair, having three knives jammed through you aint exactly 'giving it up easy'. Then again, its not typical torture to skip over the light stuff and go straight for the visceral damage, but thats wolverine for you.

Quite honestly I've been waiting for the X to make a resounding move against sinisters forces.

so i kind of expected remy to lose to wolvie, but this does set up for an epic counter attack in 206.

Sorry for the double post, but CBR has just dropped a bomb in their forums. What Cable actually says when he re-appears is relevant. He whispers "One Minute before Dawn, Kid. We're doing fine."

He looks a bit worse for wear, and he may be wearing Sabertooth's coat, but hes got the kid. Which may mean quite a few things. Gambit handed Cable that phrase, he handed the answers right into Cables hands. Which means Gambit is totally not with Sinister. He may have his own agenda, but he seems to be doing for Sinister what he meant to do with apocalypse.

Also, the whole assault was a really bad decision on Cyke's part. He did basically send 6 X-men to fight Sinister, the Marauders, and the Acolytes, and they got beat down. He should have sent in some of the others they have on reserve, Warpath, Darwin, I imagine the Professor would have helped too. And they had no reason not to send Iceman, he would be in his element, and hes the biggest threat, thats what Mystique feared him.

So it's more than possible that Remy is working with Cable...

...or at least looking to sabotage Sinister's plans any way he can. I mean, he also destroyed Destiny's Diaries "accidentally" (yeah, because he would really miss like that).

Does anyone think that Mystique could be working with Cable as well? After all, she knows the contents of the Diaries and she had time enough to warn him when they were both on Rogue's team.

Yup. Gambit is so playing against Sinister.

Also, it's interesting that Sinister doesn't have a clue where the baby is but Gambit is able to tell Wolvie. It's obvious that Gambit has been holding things back from his 'boss'.

And we have no idea exactly what Gambit said to Wolvie, but the man believed him and that says something.

I'm curious as to how Gambit is handling his wounds, but I suppose when it comes to medical attention it helps to have Sinister on your side.

Yeah, it really does doesn't it. I would imagine that he's in a lot of pain, and we've got to hope that Sinny patches him up pretty quick. Oh boy should that man have a lot of scars.
