It does bring up an interesting question...We typically see Mystique as a female in her 'standard' form, but when Mystique is in a male form would her bit's and pieces work like a male's would? Otherwise how could she and Destiny bump uglies and make Kurt...someone would have to supply the silly spray...

hehe...some people were just talking about this on the X Dream (a place where I rp). I always thought of Mystiques appearance changing, not her internal organs changing. So she could get man bits, but she wouldn't get sperm and stuff.

Lol...thats a good point Ave. I would imagine that Mystiques internal 'parts' stay her own...ie female...but who knows? Marvel can make whatever they want happen, happen!
I personally think it would have been pretty cool!

Personally I always figured Mystiques internallys stayed constant. I could see some writer trying to wire 'her' like that, but what kind of explanation do you give to the sperm? Do her zygotes morph? Or would they just glaze over any explanation and trust us to give them blind acceptance?
Then again, who's to say Mystique's Dominatrix-Porn-Star-Smurfette look is her true form? Maybe she just puts that face forward to keep everyone off guard.

thats the first thought i had... I wouldn't put it past marvel to retcon mystique as a dude. i guess it would be easier to be a man and satisfy men in a female form (no chance of pregnancy) then to be a woman and satisfy women in a female form (no money shot). of course, then spider man could come into play with some zany web shot to make it realistic, i reason he'd only charge a reasonable fee for a quick shot...
this has gone horribly wrong (yet oh so right.) and that paragraph was way longer. suffice to say, marvel could make mystique a dude and not think twice.
i hope no one showed young children my sick sick mind.

Let’s try to think has this ever happened before (Mystique’s changing into a man to please a woman). I don’t think so and do you really think that Marvel will stretch that far…and then you have to think if Mystique change into a guy to knock up some girl could Morph change into a woman and get knocked up himself? Hmmmm? (a side question has Marvel ever done a man and man couple before? Of course they have done a woman and woman but has it ever been the other way around?)

Good questions GG. I feel Mystique IS properly woman as her attitude seems to scorn men (or is that just the vibe I get?) and her blue form seems to be her 'natural' one asshe has often stated that she 'wears' it as a principle against mutant-haters rather than blend in and live 'normal'.
As for gay relationships they tend to be hinted at rather than fully shown/admitted (to my knowledge) except in Ultimate X-Men where currently Colossus and...I've forgotten who? Sunfire I think?....are having a very open relationship (and it was Nightcrawler who freaked and ended his friendship with Peter cos of it)

Northstar was the first openly gay character in Marvel comics, actually, probably in any comic book. I think he came out in the early 90's, but I'm not positive on that. |

Like godspeed said Northstar is gay. You've also got Anole who's currently with the New X-Men as well.
The whole Destiny/Mystique thing was hinted at in the comics while Destiny was still alive (since the censors wouldn't have let them put it in properly) and then written as fact for the first time in X-Treme X-men as far as I know.

I don't know much about Destiny but I would think that one of the reasons she mean't so much to Mystique was cos she wanted Mystique just as she was...a woman.
And as -to our current knowledge- Destiny didn't get pregs by Mystique I'd say it was a fair bet they had a wholly lesbian relationship.
