Not sure if I'm liking the look of too much on there in the X Universe.

I'm waiting for more information on X-Men: Legacy but it looks like it's going to be a lot about Xavier and Magneto, and neither of them really interest me. There are supposed to be some interviews with Carey coming out this week or next week, so I guess we'll see what he's allowed to say in those.

X-Force (Team Scratch and Sniff) could be interesting but it's very much a cast of sameish characters and that worries me. I like X-23 and Wolvie can be good in limited doses so I'm probably going to give this one a chance. Also I like Kyle and Yost's writing so that helps.

Uncanny just looks boring. I'm not a fan of Brubacker's X-Men work so far (RAFOSA was too long and so boring) so I'll probably give it a flick through and see if it's any good before buying it.

New Exiles looks more dire each time I see it. The cover art is crap and the solicit write up strikes me as just plain dull. Not picking this up unless something amazing happens with it. I'm going to miss a couple of my favorite characters, since this is the only place they're featured, but it's not worth torturing myself with crap for them Crying or Very sad

X-Factor is a pick up for now but I'm going to be wary with it.

Overall it's uninspiring, especially since it's the 2nd month from the end of Messiah Complex and it doesn't look like much has changed for the better. Sure, it looks like they've streamlined the books, but by only using a limited character pool for them not by anything else. There's only so many times you can read the same characters written by different writers doing different things in supposedly the same continuity without getting bored and frustrated.

No sign of where Gambit is going to end up yet I'm afraid. Hopefully he isn't going to be dead or in limbo Rolling Eyes

So, what do you think?

I don't think Wolverine is in nearly enough books.  I mean, ONLY six?  Honestly, I can't get enough of him.  I'm so glad they don't bother using other characters, like that Gambit guy (who???), when they can just stick Wolverine in any old place.

Tell me about it. 6 damn books is too much. 8 if you count New Avengers and Ultimate X-Men, probably 9 if you include Astonishing (which he's sure to be a part of)

Seems like the only Gambit we know we're getting so far is the Aquabit from Exiles. Who probably isn't anything like Gambit in anything but name Crying or Very sad

I think (hope) they're just keeping very quiet about Gambit so as not to give away any clues cos he is gonna do something AMAZING, right?

9 goddamn Wolverine books....seriously

But yeah, I am concerned with Legacy. Carey describes it as being set in the present but based in the past, it does little to deal with my concern.

People are speculating that a great number of the solicits are fake to cover up the end of Messiah Complex.

Dear gods I truly hope so because if they aren't then the X titles have more than backslid, they've practically imploded. Not only is there more Wolverine than you can shake a skrull at, but a month after MCX there's a story set in the 60's. What happened to actually dealing with the aftermath of a situation like they promised?

And I'm concerned about Legacy. I guess since this one's had the least revealed about it we can but wait and see.

Oh and I really hope that the cover to Cable is a fake because it's so spoilerific it's just not funny. No, seriously.

Well, it appears that the Cable cover isnt there anymore...what did it have on it?

But seriously, a wild and wacky arc set in 1960s San Francisco is hardly a way to usher in a new era for mutant kind.

X-factor and X-force seem to be handling it the way it needs to be handled.

Also, i'm just going to throw this out there, for Wolverine: First class, the inaccuracies are a little painful. Wolverine is not wearing brown, and absolutely glorious as Kitty's boobs look on the cover, they arent very fitting on a 13 year old.

Don't get me started on Wolverine:First Class. IT IS NOT NEEDED! He already has Origins, where they're exploring his past and his own solo, he does not need another book banging on about him.

As for the Cable cover, let me find it for you:

Spoiler:

So it completely spoils the fact that Cable still has the baby after the end of MCX. And then when you add it to the solicit it appears that he's traveling through time, trying to shake off some following force (my money is on Predator X or Nimrod) and trying to raise the baby. Fun times.

I HATE THE CABLE BABY HOLDER.

He just looked so badass in 205, with the sabertooth coat and the baby sling. It made him look like he was real beat up, that hes been having to really fight to survive after providence and hes been running in the woods for days.

But the whole baby holder not only looks silly, but its completely impractical and unhealthy for a newborn child.

Tell me about it. I loved the look in 205. Not only was it practical (both in terms of the baby and the cold) but it looked cool (and was good for the baby). The stupid x-baby holder thing is crappy. Not only will it freeze the baby and shake the baby but a baby as young as that can't support it's own head yet and so would probably kill the baby. ARRRGGGG!

What are you thinking of Cyclops so far in the crossover?

Frankly, hes boring me. The only difference is that the stick up his ass seems a lot bigger. Its the same thing i've been seeing the past couple of years "I dont like you Xavier, I wont forgive you, let me run things. Yes, I know you own the mansion and have paid for it and raised all of us but I dont want you as our leader anymore"

See I see him as at least stepping up and owning things now. He's being pro-active and doing what needs to be done, including sending a team to get the baby, and is quite rightly pissed when Xavier talks down to him in front of his students. But then this is the thing I've seen the most disagreement over on so many boards. It's an individual thing.

I have to admit that I'm hoping to see both more and a significant part for Gambit soon. It's been promised/threatened for a while and I hope they pay up.
