· Quote

According to a report from CBR. Actor Bailey Chase is in negotiations to play Remy LeBeau in Wolverine: Origins.

I'm not familiar with the actor, but he has a solid resume and hes definitely an adult actor, which is what irked me about his possible appearances in X3.

But seriously, its about fucking time. And wether Bailey gets it or not, it means Gambit is in the movie, and it means they officially have my 9-10 bucks.

Bailey Chase IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0003082/

He looks a bit like Viggo Mortensen of LOTR fame, which I like

Original Article:
http://comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12648

Upon further examination of the source article, it does not expressly state that it is Gambit, but is a character under the studio alias of "Mr. Yellow"

and Chase descibes him as:

"He's about 30 years old, a charming southern guy on the surface but he's got some ulterior motives going on underneath. By the end of the film, he's probably not going to be such a nice guy."

And now I need to clean my pants.

That could be very damn interesting. Consider this front paged and I too am going to need to change my pants.

He is a little square jawed and broad in the shoulders for my tastes but it is at least a Gambit in the films.

considered my pants changed. helluva long time since any news came up, so this is quite refreshing too. If only the movie people themselves would confirm it, we'd be good to go.

I figure they intend to keep it secret, at least for the sake of people who dont know shit about X-men, but its very ineffective for those of us who do know..

And since it will supposedly be filmed in both New Zealand and New Orleans, really, who else could it be?

So true. Hopefully he can pull the accent off. Saying that, he's only in talks so far, so we could end up with someone else.

we could, but its not the actor i care about, as long as he can act. Its the script i care about, and from the way this actor is talking, it appears to be reasonably in character, about as much as we can hope for in the movies.

I have to admit that while script and plans for the character are extremely important, it's also about the visuals of the character. It's easier to enjoy the character if they at least look a little bit like the images they're based on.

I think they make the actors take a class to get the accent. Now since he is not a big known actor he might try to nail the part better than a known actor.

I just like the most of you I hope the script is good.

This is interesting...He's still not technically confirmed but it seems far more likely that he is in it after reading the article.

I would like to see Gambit in a movie but I was more hoping it would be X4 than the Wolvie movie...Especially since there is a chance that this will make Gambit around 50 in the current X-films...

Still if they do the charater justice and the story is good I won't mind (much) LOL

BTW GG your pic didn't work Sad

Possibly. Or they could have him not aging or something (since the Thieves have long life in the comics). They might not, given the more realistic nature of the films, but there are plenty of ways they could bend it.

Apparently I missed the part where this became an origins movie. grrr. Hell, maybe they somehow tie him into weapon X, and he has a healing factor. Laughing  Seriously, if they want, they have plenty to work with to keep him young.

Ok....catching up on this thread!

I agree with LE that that guy looks good and is at least not 'a boy' actor. I agree with Stef that he is a little square-jawed and that for 'our' Gambit...but at this point I am pretty happy with anything we get! And I agree with Ace that script and portrayal is all important!
LOL....

As for the age thing, well, it depends on where in the film Wolvie meets him, past or present? But the elixer, time travel and all sorts of other things can be put in to explain it!

Yes there are ways for them to get around the age issue...Hence the "chance" in my post...LOL Laughing Mr. Green Laughing

It is all still speculative at this point...We can't know for sure if "Mr Yellow" really is Gambit, although it does seem very likely...

As for the actor playing him (if he gets the part) I haven't seen any of his work so I have no idea if he could pull off the demeanor of the Ragin' Cajun...But as far as his physical appearance - there are several pics of him where he looks quite hot...I wonder what he would look like with his hair a bit longer... I think it would really pi$$ alot of people out if Mr Yellow wasnt Gambit.

In his 50s? Seriously people the actor doesnt look in his fifties. And with the non age or slow aging with the theives...would that still affect Gambit since he announced he was no longer with the theives?

I think that this actor needs to grow his hair, dye his pupils(also know as tattooing eyes, wear red contacts (ex-ex-extremely hot BTW), have a five o clock shadow, and a trench coat and then he has a chance.

Now I know this might be stupid but who are they getting to play Wolverine because I heard Hugh wouldnt do it again?
