Gambit can be seen in a promo art for Secret Invasion, drawn by Leinil Francis Yu. You can see him just behind Phoenix:

It probably doesn't mean anything, but it's nice to see him in a MU promo. In fact it's nice to see so many X-Men in the promo.
Question: What would you do if Gambit was a Skrull?
Personally I hope he isn't, since I think his character has been developed over the past few years (not always good but development non-the-less) and it would be a shame to lose that. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

Hmmm...it would depend? If the current Gambit was a Skrull then where is the real one? Can you imagine if he had never come back from Antartica (as in from then onwards it was a Skrull-Gambit) and the real Gambit had been a prisioner on the Skrull homeworld all this time! That would surely lead to some interesting developments to his chararacter! He'd certainly be pretty screwed up!
But of course...I doubt it. I wonder what his appearence IS doing on that cover? _________________ *

I figure its just showing that anyone and everyone could be a skrull
I figure the X-men wont have much involvement in it anyway. They stayed out of Civil War and WWH (aside from two minor books), I figure Secret Invasion will be more of the same. _________________ I always thought that Rogue and Gambit should adopt that Leech kid from X3.

Yeah, I figure as much too, but it's nice to see him included on a promo piece that's going to reach more than just the X-book followers of Marvel.
I wish that the X-Men would have a bigger tie in with the rest of the MU, since they are supposed to fit into the same universe and all. The annoying little subpar books that have tied them in to the MU crossovers really don't cut it. If it's going to be a MU wide crossover/event then it should involve the whole MU. Same as the Messiah Complex event is spanning all of the main X-books.
Ah well, what can you do? _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

I figure they'll be back on the big scene once they're done resolving all their issues. They haven't had a crossover with the marvel U since House of M. _________________ I always thought that Rogue and Gambit should adopt that Leech kid from X3.

I like Crims response because it does open more doors for Gambits character to continue. Like the rescue of Gambit if he was a prisoner. And who would get him Rogue or Sinster. Will he be a chanced man.
But I am leaning towards LE answer that the artist is just simply stating that he can be anyone and no one is safe from him. Because he even Cyclopes _________________ RIP Heath |

If anything, you could use this picture as a chart of who ISN'T skrulls, because marvel wouldn't give something like that away too quickly, and look at the charecters shown. Its a veritable who's who of the marvel universe. That pic is shock value only.
Still, nice to see Remy among the "who's who" of the marvel Universe _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine. He's a fun loving scoundrel by nature. Thanks GG for liking my idea!
And yes, as Ace says, Remy is certainly at the fore of Marvels minds of late! That can only be good after they so nearly killed him off for good! I think they have realised how important he is to a majority of their readers! _________________ *

Yeah, it is nice to see him featured so much recently. Hopefully it'll mean that they're intending to keep him around and do slightly better with him this time. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

I am surprised how important a role he is gaining in current X-Men as its not a change that sounded pre-planned way back from BoA. I think they kinda weakly threw him in the mix but then he has just grown and grown and grown and they've had a'ha moments that feature him more strongly than they ever believed a while back!
I'd like to think he has even grown on Carey abit since he began writing XM. _________________ *

I think that he has indeed grown on Carey since he started planning to include him with the Marauders and started doing research. I think he said that he'd never read much with him on his own and that he liked the potential he saw there, or something. I'm looking forward to seeing where he's going to be in 08, or this year as it now is. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

I remember him saying he was more into Rogue and Gambit was only going to have a brief appearance! Oh how that has changed! Yay! _________________ *

I don't know about anyone else, but that made no sense to me. Care to elaborate GG? I'm confused _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine.
