We haven't actually found out how Mystique got Remy on her side, still. Nothing at all. All we find out is that Remy stayed with the Marauders because he was placing his hope in Mystique's love for Rogue. Hopefully it'll be covered properly in Legacy, as will how Remy got de-Death'd.
Mystique is shown taking Sinister out in New X-Men #46. She gets him to bend down to check out Rogue and then pushes his face into Rogue's causing her to absorb him. Remy comments on how he's finally free after all this time.
Mystique then presses the baby to Rogue lips, until Remy freaks out over what she's done and snatches the baby away. He never expected Mystique to do that and tells her he never would have condoned it if he'd known, and neither would Rogue.
She says that she knew what to do because of Destinies Diaries. Yeah.
As for the baby, I'm going to say entirely new mutant, without famous parents. I think the whole point was that she was the first new mutant manifestation since M-Day, from non-mutant parents, and thus the hope for the race because of that.
She's not actually been shown using her powers yet, and not all mutants manifest at puberty. Some do have early manifestations, or parts of their mutation that they're born with (Remy's eyes for example). The fact that she blew out Cerebra could just have been because of the whole 'No More Mutants' spell being broken, or something like that. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
Bang mon ami, you dead!
God loves Tante, he's too scared to do otherwise. |
