It's coming in the first quarter of 2009 (just in time for the Wolverine movie anyone) and will be showing on Nicktoons. 26 episodes, so hopefully there should be some Gambit in there somewhere.

"Wolverine and the X-Men" (26 half-hour eps):

The story begins as an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, Professor X. The beaten heroes, including Beast, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, walk away from it all but then they are given a rare glimpse into the future, where they see a world in utter ruin…ruled by giant destructive robots. They discover the world has spiraled out of control because the X-Men have given up. So now the most legendary of all X-Men, Wolverine, must take the lead on the ultimate mission--to prevent the world's destruction—while fending off enemies Magneto and The Brotherhood.

I forget where I read/heard it, but Gambit will be involved in some way, probably as a guest star/villian type.

Oh yeah....I saw that on Superherohype yesterday (about the network and release date. I hear Ironman is also airing then)

I hope the cartoon doesn't just follow the old stories as done in XTAS and Evo? Like the whole Cable/Bishop/Future Past stuff? I know its at the core of the X-Men (fighting to save the future) but still.....I prefer things kept in the present.

And yeah Ace, Gambit is scheduled to be in it. It'll be interesting to know if they go down the Evo route with him? I would like him to have a dominant position like in XTAS but I doubt it somehow.
I wonder if how he will be portrayed in the toon will relate directly to what they have planned for Wolverine: Origins? Perhaps a solo Wolvie episode where Gambit helps him will be an introduction set up for the film?

I hope this X-Men cartoon don't fall and collapse like that new Fantstic 4 cartoon did that came on cartoon network. It shouldn't be called Wolverine and the X-Men it doesn't have that type of ring to it. I know Wolverine is the most popular 1 out of all of them but they should give the show a better name. But maybe the fans of Wolverine would like it and the younger generation would.
Gambit is also bouned to be in one of those 26 episodes like every1 here said he might appear 1-5 times 5 being the maximum 1 being the minimum. He should be one of casting roles like he had in the first X-Men show on FOX Kids.
