As I was watching some old X-Men videos on Youtube I came across one where Gambit was shooting a beam of kinetic energy from his hand.

This is the link to the episode.

It happens around 2:30 time frame.

Do you think this power was just a one time deal or the creators just don't have Gambit use this power anymore?

Hmm, being the first season I reckon its more of a blip rather than an ability to 'shoot' kinetic energy. I'm pretty sure he has to have an object, although after the New Son stuff he could charge molecules in the air, but for the sake of TAS I wouldn't put that forward as  a viable reason.

I'm drawn to say that although you can't see it as such he is doing a 52 card pick up power-charge...ie flicking a whole pack forwards to try to blast the wall back. (thats my explantion to explain the blip! Smile )

Well I guess Marvel haven't had a reason to make anything official but ' Etienne' does seem to be the most accepted name and I reckon they'd use that if they needed to.

Although I wonder why he HAS to have a middle name? I don't have one. But then again its the sort of thing Tante Mattie would have insisted upon I'm sure.

LOL...you hang around guilds like this long enough you pick alot of stuff up! Very Happy

Also Wikpedia is good for Gambit-history-info.

I was given a link to a site which gave full outlines of all the comics, including uptodate ones, so you could follow what is happening right now....I'll have to try to find it! Its good for those who can't buy the comics right now...

EDIT: Ok, found it: http://www.uncannyxmen.net/

...and narrowed down..... http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/issues/showfaq.asp?fldAuto=30

You want the Blood of Apocalypse starting with issue 182 (X-men second series) to 187. After that it is Careys run and when we next see Gambit he is no longer in his Death guise (a very grrr point with me cos I thought it had potential and I really hoped they wouldn't do the 'quick fix' option, which they have by leaving it open as a 'Sinister fixed him'.....)
