Not really fanfiction of any sort, but this is probably the best thing I ever wrote. Its a bit long, but I hope people like it:

Part 1

Eternal this time.

She sits in the dust in a place that was not ready for her, the last sunset of a dying world heralding the change in season that led to her decay. In her mind her life is as it always was, she sits alone at a table not meant for her and as she was becoming the dust it is then part of her.

The chaos outside is breeding with knowledge that the last words have been spoken, the last sun is now falling, and the last myth borne finally on the river to its penultimate resting place as the last breath of a dying mind is drawn and the last scream of the final night is heard.

The moon rises as tranquil as if no life should be changed, though the sea challenges the dust and in the oceans and in the stones on the bottom of the river small creatures fear the change and know not what hope of safety is. Its pull upon the tides of a once  beautiful world settles the dust in the air after many millennia of chaos, and still she sits in a room alone, unchanged by the destruction of a race, a life within a mirror within her mind.

She feels the earth as it shudders and throws from its back the death of its nations, and shows no pain as she is torn in half by the destruction it wreaks. The dust of the last ray of light falls in her eyes, clogs her once beautiful hair and sits in the space around her as though she were never there. No sun will rise when the moon has set, and the first pure darkness makes its presence known as one by one the stars plummet from the collapsing sky, through a window in the mind landing in paradise.

Like the closing of an envelope, a black velvet cloak in the light made by darkness, the last of the tremors subside and the wreckage and chaos are still, nothing remaining of the billions of life forms, the earth itself becoming nothing but a memory of the mind of a dying goddess, waiting to be reborn.

From the blackness where once there was a presence of life, a single figure emerges, seemingly one of dust and darkness, a silver moon at her back and the glow of stars creating an eerie halo about her indecisive form.

As the earth waited in her womb, she smiled upon the pure silence, a Gaia blessing a time that would accept and understand.

Part 2

This eternal time.

He watches from the mountain as what once was him is now destroyed. The final thoughts blinded by the scream of a thousand souls echoing as a shadow of regret falls from a blind eye like a tear. Dust rises in the air as at his unspoken command the work of millennia is fractured into a memory for someone else to carry as the last of the life runs for a safety that isn't there, from a hatred that was never meant to hate.

The light fades as the sun begins to wane, thinning like the moon behind a new globe of engulfing power that stretches out a fragile thought to connect with a dream that hasn't yet begun and will never begin but will infinitely continues as nothing will be and never was.

The power to create burns with obsidian wings in the back of his heart but their fluttering is weakened as the talons of change sink through the flesh of the seasons, purifying the second of delay between the final fading death of the light and the ultimate destruction of his soul. He takes the sun in his arms as the light dies from sight and into another place and time, forming a union with his heart until love can bring it from its cold resting place. He glows with a passion of knowing what will be, and what will change while the terror and the fragmentation of all that was and the creation of all that will be are his children, running side by side and yet as one ages and dies the other matures and grows strong, cracking the ground beneath its feet and drawing the stars to it as they fade from the last sky even before they should have risen, the last sunset waved away by a chorus of pain.

Deep within the ocean a lonely dolphin stirs, a witness in silence to the unbearable sense of power created by the sheer beauty of this destruction. The oceans are thick with the last of the life, a place and a time that never should have been, but was anyway. A tribute to a place no more than a sought after memory, a light misinterpreted by those who sought to find it.

He rises, and as the earth itself becomes no longer able to withstand the chaos and trembles within its own kind of fear the final dark takes hold. He hangs his head at the death of a child, and another shadow tear falls from his eye for the knowledge lost that will yet again be found, in a time that may know better the dark from the light.

He curls inside the folds of darkness, warm and safe with the dead sun in his arms, and still can feel the pull of the moon upon the distant shards of creation left behind.

In the womb of a Gaia a new god stirs, to make another world in a time almost eternal.

END

Ok, so I know it was trippy and weird, but if you want to make a discussion thread/whatever, feel free.
