|
|
About Gambit "Upon the return of Apocalypse, Gambit submitted himself to the villain and was transformed into the one of Apocalypse's Horsemen, Death. Gambit intended to insinuate himself into Apocalypse's ranks in order to protect the X-Men from the Dark Lord's eventual betrayal, but he miscalculated, as the transformation process warped his mind as well as his body. After becoming Death, Gambit's hair turned white and his skin turned deep black. Despite having his mind and body twisted, Gambit retained a large portion of his former self, stating to Apocalypse, "I'm both Death and Gambit," and he also remembered his love for Rogue as he could not bring himself to kill her.
In their latest battle, Gambit was knocked unconscious and was taken by the former X-Man Sunfire, now a Horseman like him, to a Zen temple in Japan, where Sunfire told Gambit that they had to destroy all bonds to their former lives and take Polaris with them. Gambit and Sunfire then returned to the Xavier Institute to claim Polaris. Gambit, in an attempt to free all ties with his old self, tried to kill Rogue and would have been successful had it not been for Pulse neutralizing Gambit's powers. Without Polaris, Sunfire and Gambit returned to Japan where they ran into Sinister."
About Rogue "In the events that followed M-Day, when the mutant Apocalypse was re-awoken, Gambit, seeking to protect Rogue and his fellow X-Men from Apocalypse, is transformed by Apocalypse into the newest Death. However, failing to resist his mind-altering transformation, Gambit tries to kill Rogue twice (first under orders from Apocalypse and the second time at the urging of Sunfire in order to cut all ties to the X-Men). After the X-men defeated Apocalypse, Sunfire (who was also tranformed into one of Apocalypse's horsemen) left with Gambit to help Gambit clear Apocalypse's brain washing and live as entirely new beings.
Afterwards, as Professor Xavier goes into space after Vulcan, taking Havok with him, Cyclops gives Rogue the leadership of her own squad with freedom to choose anyone she wants for her team. At this point, the roster consists of Iceman, Cannonball, Cable, Sabretooth, Lady Mastermind, Karima Shapandar, and Mystique. She choses this team against Cyclops's warnings in order to take down the Children of the Vault. To control Sabretooth, she has him injected with Nano-Sentinels. Rogue also rejectes her foster mother's advances towards repairing their relationship before the team's first mission, still wary of Mystique's motives and believing Mystique may prove traitorous. As a leader, Rogue seems to have reverted to her earlier "tough as nails" self."

I think YAY for Rogue...I'm loving her new self. She makes a top notch leader.
Gambits story however is a mess....and depends so much on where Marvel take it next! _________________ *

Woot! for Rogue. It is so nice to see her back to her ass-kicking self.
*sigh* for Remy. The waiting is driving me mad. I need to know what is going to happen to him. And soon. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

I'm with you Stef...I've been trying to follow everything that's been going on, but without a drivers license, it's hard for me to get to the local comic shop to see what's happening. _________________

Well, we're keeping everything updated here rumour wise as far as we can. I wouldn't put too much stock in wiki though- anyone can play with it and change things so its not likely to be all that accurate. Should see some of the stuff on there about bands that is so far innacurate its off the chart. _________________

They are reasonably accurate, and they do try to check things. But they can't always get it right.
What they say up there is pretty true though.
And yes, we are trying to keep abreast of the rumors and news. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

I actually saw an article on Yahoo a few months back saying that Wikipedia was almost as accurate as Encyclopedia Britanica. _________________ I am Loki Scar-Lip, Loki Skywalker, Loki Giant's Child, Loki Lie-Smith.

I wouldn't trust it... there was something on the Afi page a week back stating that their next album was coming out next summer, titled 'clandestine'
Absolute bull, but if you hear a rumour and put it up, people will believe it. _________________

I think if someone is passionate about a topic they will know all the details and I assume its fans who predominately post on wiki, some of the info about Gambit that is put up on marvels site was shockingly poor at times! If it just a job to some guy who has to update character profiles and stuff I guess they just don't necessarily care so much. us fans, we're anal! |

ANY O WAYS i am glad it is a better picture of what is going on because it was all confused. mixing two to four different universes into one story line. taslking about confusing. _________________ RIP Heath |

I think Serenity got it right. We're obsessive enough to be anal. _________________

No i think you are both wrong. But that is just me. I think if you are fans of anything and you feel that a source does not give it justice it just natural to act. _________________ RIP Heath |
