Apparently there is a rumor that there are going to be a bunch of straight to dvd x-men spin-offs....Juggernaut could be one of a supposed many.

Still I think these are just rumors though, and if not than it makes no difference, I will laugh maniacally when said movies fail miserably.

That would definitely be taking things too far!

It's a long shot, but maybe they're making a movie about Juggernaut leading up to his role in X3. If it is true that several characters will get straight to video releases, it could open the way for a Gambit movie since the creators know that fans were disappointed he wasn't included in X3.

I stand behind that Juggernaut is NOT a mutant!

Nope...he certainly isn't...and I don't see why they would make straight to dvd movies for some of the lesser know characters, make a big movie and they'll gain noteriety and bring in more cash in the long run...

Well the Juggernaut used in the movies was the ultimate version, which means he is a mutant. Although, it sort of seemed like they only used that version to be able to film the scene with Leech and Shadowcat.

Well, if you think about it, they had to make Juggs and Phoenix mutants.  For us, fans of the series who've been around and know the stories, we know who's a mutant and who's not.  But for Janis Q. Public walking into the movie theater with no grasp of X-history, they might be willing to swallow the fact that a group of people have developed a mutated gene which grants them power, but it may be a bit much to ask them to accept Juggs getting his power from some mystic stone...or Jean becoming the vessle of some esoteric force of the universe.  It's just easier for the uninformed audience members to understand/accept if all the characters gain their power in the same way.

LOL...they dug themselves a hole though with it cos they can either ride the lie to make a Jugs movie or forget X3 and take the time to do his backstory properly. I still can't see a movie being done for him though either way?

And Godspeed makes a good point about him being Ultimate version.

Question: Does Fox have to be the ones to make spin-offs? Do they 'own' the X-men franchise now? Cos if not (if they only own the X films) then dvd spin offs have a better chance of coming to light by someone else, right?

Me?  Reason?   Laughing

I really don't have any facts on the matter, but I severely doubt we'll be seeing any Juggernaut movies in the near future.  He's neither marketable enough nor interesting enough to warrant a solo film.  To be perfectly blunt, most of the X-Men aren't.

That I understand Fox has the on-screen rights to make X-Men movies, and will continue to have those rights until the current contract runs out.  Of course with the fiscal success of the three movies made I don't see Fox giving up those rights easily.  Besides, do you really want to see a bunch of B-movies stocked with third-rate actors covering the solo adventures of Iceman or Colossus?  Or maybe you'd like a nice two hour Storm movie...I'll bet we could even convince Halle Berry to write all her own dialogue Exclamation

Haha.........well I just figured some true X-Men loving producer might actually do a good job of a few solo movies, if they have the passion! And unknown actors can be a good thing...just look at LOST or HEROES?

But if Fox are happy enough to do them then even better!

But I do agree.....they have to choose carefully who warrants a movie and who can hold the screen in their own right....
