Here's an interview with Kitsch where he talks a little bit about Gambit.

Hm. Not entirely sure how I feel about that. Every time somebody asks this guy about Gambit he just kinda goes "yeah it was fun". He doesn't give ANYTHING away about the character, it's driving me insane!
Also what does he mean "He's just another comic book character". Nice. Good way to show how excited you are about the IMPORTANCE OF THIS CHARACTER IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE! It worries me, since Kitsch didn't know much about Gambit to start with, how they've treated him in the movie if that's what he thinks of him post production.
Aaaaaand rant over.
Edit: Ok rant not-so-over. Just realized that this should be under 'Gambit News'. Oh well. Also, dude: "He has kinetic energy". Man, everybody has kinetic energy!

Well he says he loved the character and that and as he also mentions Gambit coming from a parentless background he either did some research or thats a hint to how much background they get across in the film?
We can't expect everyone to be so psyched up on OUR fave character but we can at least hope he'll be played well and done with justice. Most actors don't have all the history and fanbase to worry about when portraying a new character - and in movie terms this IS a new character.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this film - more so than X3 - so I'm trying not to read to much into any pre-movie hype right now and wait and see!

Yeah that's the main thing I was lookign at when I read teh interview I mean what does he mean just another comic book character WTF!!! He's not just another character he is one of the top characters. That really made me worry...I wish it was May Already. Man
