Click here to read the article from CNN.
This would be a perfect opportunity for Cedar Fair to buy BGE and shut that dump down. KD is only 90 minutes away after all and competition is a bad thing. And with CF's experience in running marine parks, the Sea World parks would be a great fit also.

| I hope CF doesn't buy Busch's parks. I like the variety and they have very nice parks. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. I also love the animals. |

| I don't think we need to worry about Cedar Fair buying Busch Gardens...I think that Cedar Fair barely has a pot to pee in. Personally, I'm hoping to see them with a severe cash flow problem and then they'll have to sell some of their parks. |

Plus I think Cedar Fair is hurting this year...I mean they do have somthing coming in from the sale of GL, but they will be hurting I'm afraid due to the economy. _________________ Geauga Lake I will miss you! |

^ I'm sure people get the humor. They just don't like it.
Act civil and respectful, and I'll kindly return the favor. I've made it clear though that if people want to be arrogant and condescending, I will be the same way. And why do I do this? To quote a fine CF employee- "Because I can".
Maybe I should just lurk and then immediately call out people when they make a mistake or state an opinion that I don't like. That seems to be the preferred way of doing business by the CF folk here, isn't it? I mean, after all, I too am a former Cedar Fair employee.

I agree completely. Ever notice when CF buys a park, something always goes wrong with their wood coasters?
The SOB, Villain, RWB for example. (i forget the others.) _________________ >>>>>Feuer FREI<<<<<<

What happened to Villain when CF bought it? I thought the only incident that coaster had was some a** hole had their cell phone out while on the ride.
Did something happen that I don't even remember? Never know with me cause I be a pregnant dumbass. You all have no idea, LOL! _________________ Katie

I'm going out on a limb here and predicting that large scale corporate ownership of amusement parks is probably a dying concept. Cedar Fair is in WAY over their heads, Six Flags is filing for bankruptcy protection... the world is getting tough out there! We are very near a point where many parks may just close. GL could be the first of a trend.
Busch Gardens and Sea World have a nice advantage in that they are "different" kinds of parks and are located in tourist rich areas.
The parks that I am worried about are the Valleyfair!'s and Michigan's Adventures of the world... Smaller parks in smaller markets without a large scale drawing power.
I hope that the concept of a traditional local amusement park returns out of this downturn...
in my estimation Cedar Fair blew it by torpedoing GL, rather than maybe scaling it back.
Many Six Flags are in danger... especially if they keep KILLING people...
It's a scary time for the industry...
and only 10 years removed from the biggest coaster building boom the world has ever seen.
Ugh.
But for all of you desperatly wanting revenge on Cedar Fair... you won't have to wait long I am afraid. |

No we wont, huh Dick? The poor excuse for a CEO will not be around much longer. That day cant some soon enough for me! _________________ Greed is what caused GL's demise and that just makes me sick. Lets do what we can to rat out Kinzel - hes a snake.
In the end the truth will come out and we will then see whos laughing at who. |
