| Yes- but they re-did them in the late 90's so it wasnt the nets on that giant ship when it was actually Captn Kids World. It was a huge net climbing structure. I remember when I worked there going over there after closing and playing on those things. Even did it once as I was dressed up as Penny Pengiun. Now, they are all gone. So pathetic. |

If someone can confirm that the Big Dipper car are still sitting out in the sun and rain unprotected, the Cleveland television stations should be contracted (the contact info is on their websites).
That would make some good footage.
You might remind them of this statement about Big Dipper:
"It's a very special ride. We want to make sure it has a proper home."
?Cedar Fair spokesman Robin Innes, about the Big Dipper on June 17, 2008. |
Dipper cars are sitting out because the building they were stored is was sold, guess this just proves how much CF really cares.
I think a great shirt would be:
"Big Dipper is a very special ride. We want to make sure it has a proper home." ?- Cedar Fair spokesman Robin Innes
Wear that at CP and see what kind of reaction you get.
Also as stated the net structure came down today. I would think DL and Villain are next, what a shame. _________________ Greed is what caused GL's demise and that just makes me sick. Lets do what we can to rat out Kinzel - hes a snake.

I wish Daffy Dan's was still open... I'd order that shirt and wear it poudly (if someone gave me free tickets to CP).
I'm not only not buying food at a CF park in 2008, I'm not spending money at/for a CF park. Although to wear a GL tee there might be fun especially if I pick a fight at Guest Relations. _________________ Positions Held:

| So are the cars that are sitting in the back the ones that were being used or are they extra cars that were in storage? How many cars did they have? Maybe there are still cars sitting in the station? |

I think at the end of last season All the coasters had their cars removed. One of the picnic pivilion was used as temporary storage. CF put up clear plastic tarps as walls. I could be wrong about the BD trains though. _________________ Remember......Fan Boys and Haters are always good for one thing. A one sided argument. Which are you? |

Go to the bottom of that page and you'll see the Dipper cars stored inside a plastic covered pavilion.
I have a bad feeling those cars are going to just sit and rot. _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |

| I went past today and the BD cars are gone. There were three big storage pods...maybe they are in those now. The pods look like the kind you would load on a flatbed truck and move it. Who knows?? |

| I could be all wet on this, but after reading the article in Theme park review on what the new owners plan on doing with Chippewa Lake???? Especially at the end when he says "alot of what we're doing has been here in the past" when it came to the features. |

Does someone have the link to this article about Chippewa Lake Park that is on the Theme Park Review website? I've searched and searched for it but cannot find it. Thanks! |

I'm terrible at figuring out how to enter links here, but there's two ways I found it. First I went on google and typed in, Chippewa Lake Park Sold. The other way is I went to Theme Park Reviews forum and type Chippewa in their search and found the same article. |

It's only home will be in Geauga Lake in Aurora. It's no longer the same ride if it is moved somewhere different. Big Dipper is already dead.
I mean for example, Dominator was built specifically with the terrain and view of the lake in mind, and now its reduced to the parking lot treatment. It's not the same. |

I sorta agree. Removing and rebuilding is like dismantling, and creating a cloned copy... with the recycled wood.
It doesn't feel the same anymore.
But it's either that or firewood. _________________ 2008 - Comet Hollow Group (Hersheypark)

| If Dick Kinzel had a facelift (and he needs one) would he still be Dick Kinzel? If Dick Kinzel went to operate Kennywood (and they wouldn't have him anyhow) would he still be Dick Kinzel? As coasterdad said, BD has been rebuilt many times, but hills are hills, dips are dips, and configuration is configuration. If someone has balls enough to rebuild it somewhere else, I'd be there, and I wouldn't know the difference. Who is Aurora, Ohio? The fine people who worked so hard to save her? |

| Who would know the difference? All of us. It would be nice if it is moved and rebuilt, but it is hardly the same thing. It needs to stay, but NOBODY but CF can make that happen. And I live in Aurora and have supported GL every year that I've lived here. The city itself couldn't do anything. Aurora already has one of the best schools in the state, I hardly think the city is going to spend money from an already tight budget on BD. I do think the city should have made CF aware that the closing was a bad move...but do you think CF would have stopped? This is all CF...final. You can't blame Six Flags, Aurora or anybody except CF. I know many people in Aurora that are sick over the closing. Who is Aurora, Ohio...one of the finest cities to raise a family in. I hope BD stays where it is...but I don't see many options that CF will allow. |
