| Whatever happened to Rotor Fred? I remember after they took the Rotor out, he was always on the Double Loop. As my kids got older and more involved in high school, it seemed like we didn't get to go much so we quit buying season passes but I always wonder what happened with Rotor Fred. |

After Cedar Fair pretty much scared him away (no longer giving him re-rides on Hay Baler - he became Hay Baler Man) he went to Conneaut Lake. Wonder what he's up to now. _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |

Allright, damn it, we ALL remember Rotor Fred. So who was he? Where was he? What was his story?
There is always some slightly twisted person in the world that everybody knows but doesn't talk about.
We shouldn't let this guy go. I think we should start a fan-club. Sell some T-shirts. We could use the funds for the upcoming "remember Geauga Lake" parties coming up...
Seriously guys, who knows how to find Rotor Fred? There's gotta be someone out there..... |

| I saw a picture of him on a website somewhere, something to do with riding so many times on a roller coaster but I don't remember where it was. I will get on it. |

His name is Fred Kramer. He's from Ohio. He was riding the Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake. He can be found at http://www.conneautlakepark.com/html/10_17_2006.html
I couldn't figure out how to insert his picture into my post. There's a nice little article about him as well. He's also pictured riding the Blue Streak as well. |

| Well we have a start. The article doesn't say from what city he was from but some of the GL ride ops might remember him and maybe talked a little with him about where he was from etc. Come on those of you who can help us out. |

| last week on WMMS on the afternoon show with Maxwell and Stansberry they started talking about GL and rotor Fred came up. All sorts of crazy people called in with goofy stories-he was a serial killer, he murdered his wife, he was mentally handicaped blah blah blah. This guy called in and says he's Fred so he must live the Cleveland area still. He should be the spokesman for GL. FRED FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Fred was an icon at the park for MANY years. He originally found his home on The Rotor where Funtime employees didn't make him exit. I think he was good for business - when we went there (even when I worked there) we HAD to take a trip to see him. It always looked like the ride had pretty well scrambled his brain and I think we were waiting for him to either collapse or go insane.
After The Rotor was removed he spent a lot of time on Haybaler before moving onto the paddle boats where, again, employees didn't make him get out. Eventually they did and he moved on to Conneaut.
From what I've heard he held a season pass to Geauga Lake in 2006 and considered returning to ride the paddle boats but when he saw they were removed he left, never to return again. _________________ Positions Held:

I saw him once riding the Rotor, back in the pre Six Flags days.
Its funny, at the time I didn't know who the hell he was, I just remember this dude riding the Rotor looking like he was about to fall asleep.
What a total waste of life. |

Who's? RotorFred's?
Yeah... you're totally right... a guy enjoying himself. What a waste. Glad Geauga Lake didn't have strippers otherwise I'd have "wasted" my life there too. What a terrible waste of time to see someone enjoying himself... obviously he should have been spending his time flipping burgers... now THERE'S a life-long pursuit.
What an ignorant comment.
For all you know that guy packed more life into the first 20 years of his life than you'll ever see and The Rotor was a cheap get-away from his jet-setting, Victoria Secret model filled, billionaire lifestyle. _________________ Positions Held:

...Fair enough. but from my point of view anyone who does nothing but ride the same ride over and over at one amusement park for years is wasting their lives. |
