I'll put it this way.  In the 3 hours I was at CP today (9:00 am- noon), I rode the following:

Millennium Force
Maverick
Top Thrill Dragster (first-ever ride in the front seat)
Magnum XL-200
Mantis
Iron Dragon
Cedar Downs
Wicked Twister
Disaster Transport

And that includes two restroom breaks and walking leisurely between rides.  Longest wait of the day for me was Disaster Transport at 20 minutes.  Everything else was 15 minutes or less, with Wicked Twister being a walk-on.  I even got to sit in seat 15.  Raptor had a posted 1 hour wait which from what I saw was the longest of the major rides at that point.  MF even had only a 30-minute posted wait after I rode Mantis.

Some "Fun" notes (i.e.- me just being an @ss to stir up trouble):

- Mr. Spehn was with 3 coaster enthusiasts on the exit ramp to Maverick.  One of the enthusiasts was wearing a GCI shirt.  I'm not familiar with the folks that work there, so I don't know if it was a GCI employee, or just a fan.  The only thing I heard from B.S. was that he "doesn't like being thrown around".  No one was seen harassing him though...

- All cars were off of Wildcat.  I know the ride has been closed, but again there was no mention of it being down at the park's main entrance.  There did not appear to be any activity going on either.

- The Dragster crew seemed like they would all rather be somewhere else.  The girl with the mic in the loading station said "we'll take you up mumblemumblemumble, 270 degrees mumblemumblemumble, enjoy your ride."  And when the train returned, the exit platform ride op was arguing about breaks and rotations over the microphone.  Good job team!

- Seemed like there were more people visiting on my May visit than there were today.  Note I said "seemed" as I am not privvy to the exact figures like "some folks" here are.

- Sorry CF haters, but Maverick and MF still rock.  Maverick is rocking especially hard this year.  The water bombs were on today also.

- The former Pirate Ride building looks like it will be used as a permanent structure for the Magical House on Boo Hill, which should hopefully keep the Dodgems open during HalloWeekends.

And for my main gripe, I will point out that it really has nothing to do with Cedar Fair.  It's just something that annoys me.

- There is a guy that runs around (and by run I literally mean that) wearing a neon yellow shirt with homemade lettering that says "CEDAR POINT SINGLE RIDER".  I have seen this guy at the park on my last several visits and he can usually be found over at Millennium Force.  Last year and on my visit in May, he was able to cut right between the unloading platform and the loading station without having to go all the way through the queue again.  Who the hell made this guy so special?  I'm usually a single rider and I don't get that privilege.  There were several other single riders that I saw that also did not get that privilege.  So what's the deal?  If I wore a neon green shirt that said "I'm a Coaster Douche" on it, would I get to cut the line?

Thankfully today he was made to go all the way around, but as he does, he literally elbows people out of the way as he sprints down the exit ramp.  This guy is going to hurt someone if he's not careful.  Now, one can argue that anyone should be able to see that blinding yellow shirt coming, but when he's tearing down the exit ramp behind you, guests may not have that luxury.  I later saw him on Wicked Twister doing the same thing.  Dude, relax.  It's just a message bo... I mean, the ride's aren't going anywhere.  Maybe he's trying to set some sort of a record like Geauga Lake's former "Thrillerman" or "Country Show Man" (remember him?  he was the Mr. Herbert of GL).  Regardless, I'm sure he's harmless... he just sort of annoys me considering he seems to get preferrential treatment.

And finally, as I ate lunch at Lee's Famous Recipe, a CP blue tag came in and sat at the table across from me.  Apparently even CF Folk realize where the good food is.  Wink

Thanks for reading-

So to sum it up.....

CP was extremely packed for a late June day.

CD - who loves to stir people up, especially when hes right.

Ray P. I didn't see you on the Mantis platform... I must've been at entrance (or on break) while you were riding.

^ I think I was on Mantis around 10:30-ish.  Hadn't ridden since 2005.  Probably won't be riding again for a while... it was more brutal than I remember.  Props to your team though for getting riders adjusted and moving trains out quickly.  Smile

I'm somewhat surprised that you spent only three hours given the drive you have to make just to get out there and back.

Wildcat's been closed for quite a long time and with the cars off the track doesn't sound like the ride will be running again this year unless they've been removed for inspection.

The Dragster crew incident brings back memories of a day at GL last year when one of the Dipper employees moaned about wanting to go home as it was almost past his time to leave.

I remember hearing about Country Show Man back in the SF days. Thrillerman and his "Coasting For Cancer" cause. Rotor Man/Hay Baler Man/Double Loop Man Fred.  You just don't find people like them in a park anymore. Another reason GL was unlike any other park around here.

I only had a limited amount of free time on Friday and figured if I got there for early entry I'd be able to at least get in a MF and Maverick ride.  I wish I could have stayed longer but the wife and I had some stuff to do Friday evening.  We actually traveled out to Erie today but no Waldameer.  Sad

My all time record for spending little time at a park was in 2004 when I drove 3.5 hours to Martin's Fantasy Island, stayed there one hour, drove home, then drove to Geneva On The Lake that night.  Crazy?  Perhaps... Wink
