Wait...I'm confused.

I only went to GL once of twice as a small child in the early 70's, and then again from 2005 on.

Did the floating bridge originally connect the 2 parks as it does now?  I was under the impression it was always over by RWB.

If so, did they still run the ferries too?  Where did the ferries load and unload?

When Six Flags first put the floating bridge in it was located by RWB/behind Dominator.  Then they moved it over to where Hook's Lagoon was and connected it with the Asian Adventures building that was by Shouka/Killer Whale Stadium. The ferries ran between sides during the whole time.

When CF came aboard, the floating bridge was sent back to the original location by RWB since the old Sea World/Wild Life side was closed down. They also built a new ferry boat landing where the current bridge is located. Then they relocated the floating bridge to where it is today.  So, to sum it all up, the floating bridge was in three different locations and moved three times.

I am also interested!

I'm not sure I understand the pricing/discount, but interested nonetheless.

Cool... we've got some interested people.

Before Saturday I'll begin contacting each of you who expressed interest in ordering prints... that way we'll get an idea where we stand as far as the discount.

Try to start thinking about what you'll order... at the very least print size and count (even if you're not sure which ones you'll be ordering).

If you're planning on ordering any of the larger prints please PM me so I can start calculating everything.

I'm hoping we'll be able to at least pull the 30% discount offer already that way I can post some actual prices and maybe get a few more people placing orders.

I'm planning on keeping the offer open until early July before finalizing everything.  I don't plan to accept PayPal (their charges SUCK) so after the sale closes I'll send each of you a PM with instructions where to send a check/money order; place a tentative order with the photographer so he knows what to expect; then give it a week or so after to collect all the orders; finalize the order with the photographer based on payments made.  Once he ships the order to me I'll either re-mail the orders to each of you (I won't wait for postage payment but will contact each of you via PM and hope I can trust each of you to remit payment for those costs) or, if you'd prefer arrange to meet each of you to deliver in person.  I don't know what his turn-around is but figure we should all have our shiney-new prints by early August.

(Villainess: The prices are the regular prices the photographer charges, the discount offer is going to be based on how many prints we order combined.  Take the price for the print size you're interested in and subtract at least 20% -- I'm fairly certain we'll be able to get there at least.)

I'm now in the process of sending out PMs to everyone who expressed interest in joining in with the group order.

If you don't get one I appologize... the thread went a little off topic and some people's replies were a little vauge (i.e. "I'd love to see a picture of X showing Y").  If you're interested in participating please feel free to send me a PM or post your interest in one (or more) of the five photos listed in the original post.

Again, the photographer does not have any other exposures of the park.  The five photos offered were not part of a contract job and were just pictures taken as he flew over on the way to another job.

These PMs are not a request for funds or to let you know that I'm closing the offer - the offer will remain open until next weekend when we'll work out all the final details of payment and delivery.  I plan to contact him again directly to see about shipping directly to each of you from him - if that becomes too cost prohibitive I will handle re-mailing personally (or we can arrange to meet somewhere for in-person delivery).

I'm just trying to get a handle on how many prints we're planning on ordering to see if we have enough to get the 30% discount already - that way I can post what the expected pricing per print will be.

Just touching base to let everyone know where we're currently standing after several of you (5 to be exact) have replied:

Right now I have between 23 - 25 prints ordered - that puts us as 20% off.

I'm still hoping a couple more of the people who expressed interest will reply in the next few days to take us to 30% off.

I just contacted the photographer again to give him a heads-up on where the order currently stands and he made a comment that might change some people's orders:

The discount is per print but is based on print size... so if only one person orders a 16x20 (as one person indicated they planned to) it would be at normal price.  Three 11 x 17's (where we currently stand) would qualify for the 10% discounted price.  Eighteen 8 x 11's (again, where we are as of last night) is 20% and so on.

I'm *REALLY* sorry about the confusion.  That wasn't what I understood from his original offer.  If you'd like to change your order (or back out) please PM me so I can update the sheet I've got going.

That's going to make it harder for us to get to the magic 30% discount but I hope we'll be able to pull it out - there's a couple people who sounded interested that still haven't replied.

Okay... I'll be sending out PMs tomorrow to get final order details.  I'll only be sending notes to those who responded to my earlier requests for pre-order information - if you're interested please PM me or reply here that you are interested.

If you've been waiting to see what kind of discount we're looking at I'm pretty sure (based on the pre-orders) that we're looking at 30% off for the 8 x 11 size.

There may be a 10% discount on 11 x 14's depending on final orders placed.

I'm sorry I'm late in closing everything out... I've been away most of the weekend and have brought home a ton of catch-up work I need to take care of before PM'ing everyone.

Last chance...

**Offer closed***

I'll be contacting everyone via PM tonight...

For those who responded with a clear indication of your intention to place an order: additional details will be provided.

For those who sounded interested in the thread but did not reply to the original PM: I'll be sending you an additional opportunity to place an order.

I've done my best to save all the PMs over the last two weeks from everyone clearly expressing a definite interest in placing an order, if you don't get a reply by midnight please accept my appologies.  PM me tomorrow so I can include your order.

Some random additional information I'll post here (as well as the PMs):
I'm almost certain we have reached the 30% off of 8x11 prints based on the previous replies.  This means that the final price of that size will be $12.60 per print.
We're still very close to a discount on 11x14's.  If everyone who replied they planned to place an order for that size confirms there will be a 10% discount.  That makes the final price $29.70 per print.
One person replied with an intention to purchase a 16x20 print.  Unfortunatley, based on only one print, it would not qualify for a discount.  I'm considering personally placing an order for that size if at least one person confirms -- just to push the discount (no guarantees) but it looks like, at best, it'll be a 10% discount.
I've made arrangements to pick up the completed order in-person from the photographer and will personally handle re-mailing to each person directly.
I'll be requesting payment by check in the US Mail for the full order price.  Shipping will be via USPS (unless other arrangements are made) and you'll be sent an additional PM requesting re-payment for shipping costs once the order has been mailed.  These costs will be on the "honor system" - I do not plan to hold your order waiting for shipping payment.  I've been here for a while and feel I can trust most of you to reimburse those costs - please don't disappoint.
If you've managed to calculate exact shipping (or can arrange third party payment) via some method (USPS, UPS, FedEx) and wish to include shipping payment with your order payment please let me know in your order reply.
Thanks to everyone for your participation... any future communication can be handled by PM.

Coasterdad: Feel free to close this thread.

Whew... I'm tired now... I've just finished sending out order confirmations to everyone who clearly expressed interest in placing an order for these prints.

If I missed you I'm really terribly sorry.  Some people made multiple orders or changed their orders in the course of the offer.  That's not a problem and I don't mind at all but it got a little difficult to keep everything straight sometimes.

Please check the order I detailed in your individual e-mails... if there's a problem with it please let me know so I can correct the master order before sending it off to the photographer Monday night.

Obviously, I'll be letting him know that the order is just a head's up pending everyone's payments.  Please let me know how and when you plan to send payment (per terms in the PMs).

Without getting into specifics of who ordered what, I think we did pretty well indeed.

If you missed out on the offer I'm sure the photographer would be happy to sell you prints at his normal price, unfortunately I could not extend the offer any longer as I'm sure those who ordered ahead of time are anxious to add to their collections (or to have their signifigant others roll their eyes and shake their heads disapprovingly).

It sure looks like a park anyone would of loved to go to and it still would be now too. I'll always miss GL. Our family went to GL every year ever since they built the Wb's
