Welcome daveb86. It would be great if you would share some photos. I was wondering... Did you ever go to Geauga Lake when it was opened? If so, what was your favorite ride?

Welcome daveb86.  I am very interested in seeing your photos. What I've seen is people post them through a web photo site like Flickr or Photobucket and then insert the link of the photo into the thread and it would appear.

Be sure to put a watermark on all your photos. That's how some people found out that some of the photos from this site were stolen and used to try to sell some of the rides a few months back.

Daveb... don't get yourself in trouble socializing with us miscreants but please keep the photos coming.  You're the only one that I know of with access behind the gate.

Congrats... you got the last photo on top of DL's hill.  That's gotta be worth something.

Absolutely painful to see what a crimp-claw does to Arrow tubular steel track.

Thanks for sharing.

BTW: Cleveland Scrap didn't buy the old Caricature stand under Dipper, did they, there's a ton of grafitti in there I'd love to buy.

Nice pictures, Dave.  It is very sad to see to see the rides that I grew up with go down so quickly.  I guess this is just life though.  All good things have to come to an end sometime.  Geauga Lake's end was sooner rather than later.  All we can do now is enjoy the other parks around this area and not take them for granted because who knows if or when they will close.

If you would have told me on opening day in 2002 that Six Flags would sell the park to Cedar Fair in only a few short years and then shut down the park after only four years I would have told you that you were crazy.  All we have left now are the memories of this once great park.

RIP Geauga Lake

WoW! Dave your the man! Those are some very sad pictures, but at least someone like you was kind enough get take pictures and share them to us all on Geaugalaketoday.com That was real cool of you to do that! Thanks for the pictures and last seconds of Double Loops life, much appreciated!

Also, thanks for the update on the log ride, at least some kind of good news out of all this! It must have been hard for you to help tear down these rides that you grew up around all your life!
