· Quote

I was looking through my Idora Park book the other night and was studying the photos of the Idora Wildcat. It looked like it was a ride that may have had some good air time as well as great laterals (the fan turn looked brutal since it looks like it had a tight radius).  Anyone have a chance to ride it and like to share their memories of it? I am intrigued by this ride and is one that I would like to go back in time and ride.

I found an RCT3 remake of it, as well as POV shots that are fairly decent...

It didnt have much airtime but boy it was brutal, one of my alltime favorites.
I love rough and tough coasters but this was the only one that I couldnt ride twice in a row.

The laterals were very strong,I dont think this one could be reborn again, insurance companies wouldnt allow it.

rode the Wildcat many times....one of the roughest parts was coming around the south "fan" turn...especially if you were in the last car....many a bruises from that turn....also i happen to own the last car from the yellow train of the Wildcat (call it for memories) and you can tell by the padding on the inside that it was brutal...also i remember no restraint days...and the "cat" cars only had a bar secured about a foot above your legs ...so airtime was great as well

Ahhh, the Wildcat.  I was about 13 when I rode this.  My parents forbade me to ride it since it was so rough.  But being 13, I knew everything and Mom and Dad knew nothing.  I rode it ONCE!!  That was all it took to scare the crap outta me!  Man, that coaster was rough!
