That would be a very good thing, and I don't see Cedar Fair or anybody else doing that kind of thing. Thanks for doing that, I look forward to visiting those in the future. _________________ "It's a very special ride. We want to make sure it has a proper home." At least we can visit it. I know when ever my dad talks about Euclid Beach you can tell the sadness he still feel even almost 40 years later. I never thought I would have to be like him and only have the memories of my park that I grew up with and to share with my kids.... _________________ Life is like a rollercoaster. Although RWB was my daughter and myself's favorite ride, it's wasn't significant or old enough for me to buy any part of it. However, as soon as they start cutting up BD, I could imagine a ten or twelve foot bridge in my yard surrounded by a flower bed. |

just wanted to say thanks for those who agree with what im doing here - and wanted to give an update that i will put up a few more peices - probiably as an auction in the next few days and also i have finally finished getting things into place to make a more "house worthy" peice of the ride -
i am going to take the 2"x6" cross supports - i have made a branding stamp that will say raging wolf bobs 1988-2007 and it will be burned into the wood - in 8" sections and bolted to an awards backer - now before u say money making this and that the backers are btw $25.00- and $30.00 and the iorn cost me a few hundred to make - these will probiably go for about $75.00 - to cover the costs and then some
if you are interested let me know and they will also end up on e-bay |

Thank you. |

Good job parkb. I lie that you are giving people a chance to hold on to a piece of the park that we loved and now lost! Will you let us know when the pieces will be ready to sell? I would really like to get a piece for my oldest son for Christmas because that was his first coaster! My youngest sons was the Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake park. I feel it is sad that theya can't share the fun with their kids in the future! _________________ Life is like a rollercoaster. It is full of ups and downs! |

dsloban: Conneaut Lake isn't quite dead yet, so long as nobody clubs it over the back of the head...
TheParkB: That's a much better idea than the one I had, and doesn't require reinforcing an entire wall to hang up. If you want to get together on 1 or 2 of the frames, I can do that, but I think more of the wood should go towards your project. |

I'd like to see it when it's ready.
2" x 6" x ?" seems a little small to me... I don't know. I know when they tore down my aunt's high school they sold bricks from the exterior walls for $25. Paver bricks from historical places often sell $25 - $50.
I just don't know if I'd be interested in a sliver of 20-year old wood for that much money - of course, once I see it I'm sure I'll change my mind.
I *love* to get a 4" x 4" x 40" or something beam that I could have planed and cut into a frame for the Bobs advertising poster I have though. Heh. _________________ Positions Held:

Bella:
I was talking to TheParkB about doing frames with 2x4's and 2x6's, and seeing about getting Bobs posters, but I'm not so sure the average wall would hold that without some serious drywall anchors. I'd rather not be liable for a toddler somewhere getting a broken bone from a coaster falling on him/her... |

ROFL... fair enough but my basement "museum" doesn't have a problem with drywall (happily).
I've got a copy of the original 1988 "The Legend of Terror Returns" poster. Just had it framed in a brushed aluminum frame (looks amazing) but would love to see it in a wood frame - especially one made from the actual frame.
Also have a framed and matted copy of the huge 1978/9 park map and one of the "Adventure" poster announcing the opening of Boardwalk Shores (my favorite) down there.
I'm saving up already for when the Dipper wood ends up on eBay. _________________ Positions Held:

Man I hope not.............I don't even want to think about that. The lack of information and the anticipation are mind numbing at this point. |
