Notice when I was at WWK last week that the Ben & Jerrys sign is gone from the ice cream stand. Did they pull out? Actually they should have the Happy harbor Grill there, there really isn't anything except the bathrooms to drive people over to that area where it is now.

Hey give them credit that at least one hoop is still in operation. Although I think Cleveland Scrap has there eye on it.
To anyone that has been to WWK this year, are the buckets and the air blasts working in the lazy river this year? |
The air blasts are working, but I'm not sure if all of them are working, haven't had a chance to check them all.
The buckets are as Peter said.
The wave action has been going, but it seems lamer than last seasons lameness.
What gets me about the basketball hoops, is they looked brand new this year.
Someone must have installed them @ WWK by mistake so they've relocated them to another park !

TOFTS? ROFL, I've never heard of Tofts, anyone here ever hear of Tofts?
I've always thought that the B&J in their shops & @ Gl is/was expensive, wonder, are they serving Tofts @ B&J prices.
I also noticed that the cotton candy stand they had behind the landing area was closed. Imagine that, cotton candy not selling at a waterpark.
I can picture the lamebrain who thunk up that one @ CF. ("yeah we can put cotton candy by the lake and people can munch on it while they watch us tear the park down! People will love it it will take them back to the good of days of having their amusement park there. We'll sell tons.")
And all the other CF lemmings going "oh yeah that's good". _________________ Money, power, fame: the roots of evil, and others heartache. |

tine79,
Toft is a big ice cream company based in Sandusky. I am not at all surprised that WWK has made the switch. Cedar Point used to sell Pierre's ice cream, but I guess Toft's gave them a bunch of crap about not patronizing Sandusky-based businesses, so Cedar Point has been selling Tofts inside their park ever since.
The actual Toft's factory is a few miles west of Cedar Point. We usually stop there on our way home from CP. The ice cream is a heck of a lot cheaper, more flavors (52 flavors!), and the portions are huge. They are open one hour after Cedar Point closes every night. My dad and I just stopped there tonight...each of us got a HUGE portion of frozen custard (the same stuff CP sells), his in a big bowl, and mine in a waffle cone and together they came to about $5.50.
Also, the grocery stores in the Toledo area sell Tofts ice cream. I bet if you look in your grocers freezer, you'd probably see it too. |

We drove by WWK yesterday. AT 5o'clock, the parking looked about 25% full.
Most cars i've seen there all summer. _________________ >>>>>Feuer FREI<<<<<<

I made my first and probably only trip of the year today, stayed for a couple of hours, not much to do there really. My wife likes water stuff I like coasters. Attendance was ok, not as crowded as last year, at least in my opion.
My guess is in order to stay open they will need to add a few new things like a water coaster, a B & M floorless coaster, a few dry flats and a classic woodie. Also maybe add an animal show or 2.
With a little bit of work and rapid growth our little waterpark can become a major vacation destination. If only someone would try it. _________________ Top 5 Coasters

Tofts isn't to be found in this neck of the woods, no stands & not in the grocery stores. It seems that they've stayed local to the Sandusky & Toledo area.
I'm sure the pricing at WWK isn't the same pricing that they have @ their stands. I'll check the prices the next time I'm there. _________________ Money, power, fame: the roots of evil, and others heartache. |

Having grown up in Sandusky we grew up on Toft's ice cream. Now living in Columbus I have missed Toft's. Until recently that is, now 2 stores in the Columbus area carry Toft's, Drug Mart and Andersons. It is very good ice cream. |

And you know what would top it off perfectly?
An old Arrow Looper rescued from scrap somewhere, and a Gravity Group remake of the Chicago Riverview Bobs. |

How about a 1925 classic woodie that already happens to be there?
Guys, I think we should all realize WWK is not going to be open for 2010, probably not for 2009. If Cedar Fence was going to go through with their promise of making it the largest midwest waterpark, we would be seeing signs of construction happening over there other than the removal of anything that could be sold. The lack of activity over there convinces me the "plan" has gone into the same filing cabinet as the Geauga Lake Phase II waterpark expansion.
It's over folks. Take pix while you can.
In 2011, we will be seeing WWK t-shirts for sale at the Grand Opening of the Aurora Big Lots........ |

I figured that JDT was trying to be RayP for a post.
Yeah, if they're not working on adding anything at all to WWK, it's a goner. We can only hope that the housing company that's buying the lion's share of the park is a sub-sub-sub-company of PARC or Parques Reunidos. But the odds of that are about 0.000%, give or take... |

well any even how little hopes of getting the super saturator from carrowinds is dead!! they just put it up for sale for $650,000. well what a good idea it is to take down a hugely popular water attraction from their southern most park !! oh wait they have the best watercomplex this side of the moon. they must be putting it there. oh wait no forget about that the neighbors living in the rotting decelite fungus infested other side might complain!! lets just sell it. sorry for the sarcasm tonight i'm just getting a little frustrated with all this cf crap! |

I agree! I mean this whole thing is getting old! I am tired of the fact that no one knows anything until we watch it unfold in front of us and there is not a darn thing we can do! I know that I do love other parks too and many coasters, but it is hard to watch my home park being trash like this for no real reaason! _________________ Life is like a rollercoaster. Could they be any more Six Flags?
It would make sense in the long term (assuming there are no major maintenance problems) to keep it at Carowinds or to move it to Aurora's Wildwater Kingdom to provide that new item that Mr. Kinzel recently mentioned you have to keep adding to keep waterparks viable.
But that will not happen because, if the sale report is true, they are selling it to raise cash in order to deal with their massive debt. _________________ "It's a very special ride. We want to make sure it has a proper home." Cedar Fair's Innes on Big Dipper, 12th oldest roller coaster on Earth.
