Nothing solid, but several of the commenters to this Sandusky Register article refer to layoffs at Cedar Point in September (no, not seasonal workers, fulltimers).

http://www.sanduskyregister.com/articles/2008/08/05/front/844752.txt

I know this is not reliable info, that is why it is in the rumors thread, we will see what happens in September. I would hate to see more Ohio rank and file and mid-level management workers losing their jobs because of missteps by upper management, in running up the debt and making other "interesting" decisions.

If that's true, how typical of today's companies. The CEO screws up, gets the company into dept but its the little guy who gets stuck with the fallout.

I was at Cedar Point a couple of weeks ago and I was watching the Snoopy Bow Wow. Anyhow I was talking to a lady who has a son who works part time at Cedar Point. He has been hearing that there will be laying off people!

I wonder what the public opinion will be on him, or rather what they think of him now.

No doubt CF/CP will need to do some layoffs.  How else will Kinzel & Co keep their lofty salaries while simultaneously trying to pay off the humungous debt they saddled unit-holders with as they acquired GL and the Paramount Parks.  The little guys will get screwed.

Add in the payout due when K soon retires, they'll also be picken the fountains clean.
Sorry for those charities that Kinzel & Co donated the fountain $ to.  Not that it was a ton of $, but I never heard anything about them adding to it.
Tsk, Tsk,
Didn't their mummies ever teach them the lesson about "what comes around goes around"?
