I got a e-mail to let me know that I can buy my 2009 season pass for WWK for $49.99. If I by before Sept. 1, 2008, I can get a free day at the park! I am happy to know that the park will be there for the 2009 season!

Yup, they have all of the 2009 season pass info and prices posted on their website.  Looks like you get a $5 discount if you held a pass for the 2008 season.  Hopefully they'll be adding something new?

Something new = they might be around a while. Nothing new = this is the last season. My bets on the latter.

I emailed the park asking about season passes and anything new for next year.  It must have been like an hour before they posted them on their site because i got an email back saying that the information was on the website.  Also, I was told "nothing has been announced at this time."  I don't know if that means...nothing has been and nothing will be or if it means nothing has been but will be later in the year.  Hopefully something new will come.

Completely agree.  I think this off-season will really tell the future for the sad little park.

Nothing has been announced.
Period.

Don't think that because they are selling season passes that they couldn't decide not to open next year. Think about it. They sell about, say, 10-20 thousand season passes, announce mid-winter they aren't open and either offer a reduced CP pass or money back. They'd make interest on the money from those passes.
no loss to them at all.

BINGO!! Just wait for the announcement after the first of the year-"well we tried to open for 2009, but only sold x amount of season passes" We are going to give these early buyers a free order of our cold greasy french fries for signing up for the season pass." Word of advice--use a credit card if you buy a pass-at least that way you can disbute the charges.

hmmmm, let's speculate on this...

I got it!!!!
They're draining the lake in an attempt to solve the mosquito problems in Bainbridge!  Laughing

You know, when they auctioned the park, I'm surprised they didn't sell any of the Koi in the lake. Those things are worth a ton. A single, 4-5 inch Koi goes for about 15-30 bucks apiece.

CF's BIG GIANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR WWK!!!!! (god, i hope not,....)

Keeping with the historic (hysteric???)  theme of GL in mind, we're excited to announce the return of that classic game CornHole to WWK!!!
It worked so well for GL, we're sure it will do the same for WWK!!!

<strictly a theory. All similarities to those living/dead/undead etc are purely coincidental.>

That was the 2nd big addition for this year, I stumbled upon Cornhole AND horseshoes last week, they're in front of (or behind depending on how you look at it) the Lakeside Pavilions, the 1st big addition for this year.
