At least we'll finally know how deep it actually is.
Actually, they're draining the lake to pull out all the pennies people have thrown in there over the years... Dick's gotta pay off his "Kill-Geauga-Lake" debt somehow and he's hoping he'll find a stack of 1793 "Chain Cent" or a couple 1943 copper pennies... then there's the '55 Double Dies... he could make a fortune with a metal detector if he promotes Bill Spehn to "Vice-President of Mud Farming".
Dick: "Well, I didn't know your name was Bill."
Bill: "You didn't bother to ask, did you?"
Several minutes later:
Bill: "Help, help... I'm being opressed... come see the violence inherant in the system." |
Love the Monty Python Reference!
...but I'm getting better...

I agree. I kno wif they would add even little things like that it would make the park more fun. I was thinking maybe adding some craft places like filling and in a bottle of making jewelery or something that would be neat too! _________________ Life is like a rollercoaster. There will be something new. A better view of the devastation that is the ride side. ?

oh boy, a clear view of the "new" super Walmart & the now defunct (what did it take 2 or 3 years) Linens & Things.

Already in the works... but of course with a new twist, !!!!
All shells will have items found in the pools @ WWK.
Just think, all those new additions to your used bandaid collection! - Have us frame them!
Your Barbies will love you for all those semi-new ponytail holders. Or have us braid them into a fancy bracelet that all your friends envy.
Better yet you might be the proud owner of...
Yugh.
Can't even go there. _________________ Money, power, fame: the roots of evil, and others heartache. |

Now that in less than an hour before the season is over for WWK, how many of you have thought about how wierd it has been this summer without the rides? i Know it has been a very wierd feeling for me all day. _________________ Life is like a rollercoaster. It is full of ups and downs! |

For me weird is an understatement. I couldn't put my finger on it until today. Every trip to WWK was akin to having a taste for something, getting it & feeling let down because it wasn't up to par, or lacking some ingredient.
Thats how everytrip to WWK was this season, left there feeling like I had missed something. _________________ Money, power, fame: the roots of evil, and others heartache. |

Since I cant start a new topic I will add this here. Within the next few days the old Sea World stadium will be demolished.
Thats all I will say for now other than my screen name says it all.

The old Stadium gone? I was wondering when this would happen.
Could this be the first sign of the promised WWK expansion or is it Cedar Fence trying to make another quick buck with Cleveland Scrap? |

Hmmmm - interesting news........
First, if it is true, Ill bet Cleveland Scrap will be called as they have been for every other deconstruction in the past, was the auction conveniently awarded to them? Hmmmmmm
Second, is this the start of the end for WWK? Remember when Hyde's came down, then the year after monorail, are they getting some of the work done early so that they don't have a lot to do later when it gets closed?

If they demo the stadium, so much for outdoor concerts there. I remember when 6Flags had the christian music day. That stadium was constantly packed. _________________ >>>>>Feuer FREI<<<<<<

In due time, it might be fun to watch him squirm a bit first. |

I feel sick. I am glad I took pictures of it this summer. I spent many an afternoon and summer night in that stadium as a kid and even as an adult. I was there the day of the infamous boat accident and still remember every detail. |

Welcome to the boards.
Like the X-flight, Steel Superman Venom and Monorail removals, this could be seen as an early start on clearing the rest of the land.
There goes Geauga Lake Idol at the stadium and any other future uses.
We also lose some important facilities at the base of the stadium - arcade, restrooms, whatever food service facilities were left, and didn't they do birthday parties there? I doubt that stuff will be replaced.
They had other room to expand. Maybe something new will go there, but considering the recent history I am not going to hold my breath on that one. _________________ "It's a very special ride. Ahh, the old stadium.
Sweeping that place, hiding under the ramp, hitting on the girls at the arcade, getting run over by angry mobs of fans at the lase show.
