Where did the Dodgems go? They were showing their age in September 2007, but most were still running and they were among the first items that were placed in the back area and shipped out.

There was a lot of good info in the Merry Oldies thread and a pretty good indication from several people that the Merry Oldies ended up at Worlds of Fun in Missouri and Kings Island. Anyone hear anything about the Dodgems?

Well since no one seems to know where they went, I thought I'd share a few memories.

Scary as it might sound, Geauga Lake's Dodgems and Merry Oldies were where I started learning to drive, and it was always great to ride them again in later years.

They looked pretty worn, but the Geauga Lake Dodgems my kids got to see in late 2007 looked a lot like the same ones I first rode back in the 80s, that was kind of neat.

I was surprised to see the Dodgems wrapped and moving out, apparently to another Cedar Fair park, given their condition. If they ever do another Geauga Lake auction or sidewalk sale, that is an item that would probably sell fairly well once they outlive their usefulness (remember the $800 Cornhole sign).

Sorry to bring this thread back - but did anyone ever find out either way what happened to the Dodgems?

If they weren't going to be a 'new' ride at another park I'd assume they were used as parts/replacement vehicles for someone's bumper cars... but who? Anyone know?

Mike

Most likely they are being used for parts!
