I remember the last year of the Log Ride aka Gold Rush/ Cuyahoga River Logging Co/Pepsi Plunge.  The thing that I found weird was that the big hill at the end did not have water running down it.  Was there a reason for that in 2007?  I am almost positive the ride had water running down the big hill before that.   Just something I thought of when looking at some of the pictures on the site today.

As a kid I just remember the rollers.  Then again, the Log Flumes were generally one of my favorite non-spinny rides, so I could be remembering a different flume...

I do remember there were times during the SF era where the water did go down the big hill. I wonder if it was turned off was for safety reasons or due to the age of the flume.

The Log Ride was fun! It was a water ride that you didn't get soaked! Grizzy Run was a pretty dry ride on 2007! It is hard to find many log rides anymore!

I know and thats a shame.  Beleive it or not I used to love White Water Landing at Cedar Point too.  You just dont see parks getting them or really any interest in maintaining them anymore.

White Water Landing was an Arrow hydro-flume where Maverick is now located in Frontiertown. It had canoe-shaped boats and featured at least a 45-foot drop at the end.

It had a short hill and drop inside an old building.  Then you made a few turns before entering a cave where water dripped on you at the entrance (and soon that was ended, then the cave removed), then as someone said you went up a ways, then came down...but I think it was closer to 75 or 80 feet.  You'd get just wet enough, but not SOAKED.

Another, sort of random question: Who is this 'Sansei' company that built Pepsi Plunge? I have never heard of them before, and I had always assumed that PP was an Arrow.

They also built the log flume at Martin's Fantasy Island, which looks alot like GL's.

BD 80, you're not the only one. For years I also thought the Plunge was an Arrow as well and was quite surprised when I found out it was Sansei.

I've read that Martin's flume is quite a soaker. Based on the photo, though, they sure could use some trees and maybe a tunnel between hills.
