I miss the "classic Geauga Lake" of the 70's and 80's.  Rides like:

The Big Ditch
Round-Up
Paratrooper
Fun House
Bayren Curve
Catepillar
Fly-O-Planes
Rocket Ships
Giant Slide
Flying Scooters

and of course the 3 classic coasters of the park, Big Dipper, Double Loop and Corkscrew too!

Villain without a doubt.  That ride would have fit VERY nicely in the spot where that turd Prowler is now at WOF.... I used to go to WOF on a VERY regular basis when I lived in Des Moines with it being less than three hours away and I saw the overflow lot next to where Prowler is now used exactly twice.  They could have used that along with the land Prowler is on and saved one helluva hybrid from death.

I actually miss Geauga Lake PRE six flags.

The bigger rides were great, but all that expansion really ruined the park.

My favorite rides were the original wave which was great times when i was a pre-early teen and the big dipper.

My favorite spot at GL was the old arcade, in which i spent many quarters son several nintendo era games.

When i went to six flags and the arcade was gone, i was devastated.

Villain, no doubt.  If every other ride at the park was closed and Villain was the only one open...it would just fine.

I miss the Geauga Lake of my youth the most (I was born in 1973) and the rides to go with it...

The Skyride, The Rocket Ships when they were by The Dipper (and would clip the trees), and the Eli Wheel... that was MY FAVORITE ride it was the Biggest and Purest White Wheel with Blue Supports and Blue and White Cars and red Cushion Seats. It was pure bliss for my little eyes.

The kiddie rides I loved were the Turtles, The Hampton Cars, Bulgy The Whale, The Boats and The Swings. I never got to ride the Kiddie Wheel.. it was always closed when I was tiny.

I also miss the cluster of rides in the mid to late 70's when you went Right after the front gate... Musik Express, Calypso, Paratrooper, Round-Up (which I was always too scared to ride) Tilt A Whirl, Caterpillar and Matterhorn.

I'll always remember the White Canvas Top with the red stripes and it being full of holes on that caterpillar... it wasen't as cool as the SuperCat, though.

I also miss the Slide and the Scooters when they were by the lake.

The sounds: The Hiss of the Monorail, the crickets you heard near the lake at dusk, The Piano from the shooting Gallery, The country Music on the Texas Twister, the fake gun pops you heard from the Big Ditch while riding the skyride and splash of the Goldrush

And The Smells.. The Fries from the counter service below the Monorail, the grease from the Mack Rides they had, the chlorine from the water park, and the motor-smells from the Merry oldies.

That's what I miss.

Well, I've never been to GL, but I miss Big Dipper. I would really like CF to reopen GL so I can ride it.

As for KI, I miss the Antique Cars and the Flying Eagles. I have no idea why Paramount chose to build BLSC there. Even worse is the placement of KD's BLSC. Rolling Eyes

I miss the park very much! Especially on a day like today when I would give almost anything to be able to go back in time to our park being open and heading toward it instead of cleaning and doing the catch up thing!
