I thought everyone could post initial thoughts/ suggestions here.
I have a few suggestions, but let me say that they are extremely nit-picky, and the forums really are great overall and I am very appreciative.
1. When you are looking at different topics, why does the author's name appear in the center above the topic name? It's said off to the right, and just sort of clutters things in my opinion, but I thought there was perhaps a reason for having it twice.
2. It might be nice to have the PM/ Profile buttons (on member's profiles) off to the left under their avatar or something, as it sort of blends in with their post.
Again, really nice site. _________________ www.ipetitions.com/petition/geaugalake

I agree with the Centered Username. There's already a cell with the topic starts name so having it again above the topic name is useless and kinda cluttering. _________________ "Despite low attendence at Cedar Point Amusement Park, CEO Dick Kinzel decicded to close down its sister park, Geauga Lake, in hopes for more attenence." |

I agree with your comments on the centered name and moving the PM button. Right now I see no way of changing it. I am looking into it and if possible I will make the change. |

Another thing, is it possible to make the table boards a bit darker? I know with remotely hosted phpbb's, it's hard to change the color of stuff.
Also, how about a personalized header and have it link back to the main forum page? I'm so used to clicking the forum header to get back to the front page. |

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone, I am working on making as many usability changes as we go and appreciate your input.
As far as a personalized header there is not a lot of customization available on this forum, although I have been able to change quite a bit. I think the tree at the top of each reply and forum is a good way to navigate through the forums. It might not be the same as other forums but I think it is definitely usable. |

Actually those are just ranks - the more posts you make the ride changes. |

Can you add a favorite ride section? I think these forums are just great with a lot of action. If I wanted to I could go to my computer every hour and reply to posts. I also like the feature that shows who is online. At first I thought that everything was a little bright but now I'm used to it and I think it is a ton better than Geauga Guide. |

Is there a way to jump directly to new posts like you can on Geauga Guide? I know it will highlight the topics that have new posts, but as far as I can tell, you still have to skim through the posts to find where you left off. |

Right now we are a little limited with what we can and cannot do with the forums but a newer version is currently in the works that looks to offer substantial improvement over what we have now. _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. kevster, when you go to post something in one of the forums, take the checkmark off the "send email when someone responds" when you preview your post.
I get those too because I forgot to take the check off. _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |
