Hello all,

I haven't been on the forums here for a while but I am wondering if we will be seeing all the photos the guy from the deconstruction company took ever again?

I recall they were posted briefly last year before CF nixed that by complaining to the company the guy worked for.  As sad as the photos are they were incredible to see and I am sure there must be more.

Any news or info on this?

Thanks!

Hasn't been another peep from him (though I suspect more photos will emerge eventually).

It was strange how seeing those photos calmed people down, gave them closure. Then they were pulled and people got upset again. Sometimes if you want a story to go away more information is better than trying to keep it all quiet.

I still don't see why there was a problem witht the photos! I mean the person who took them was not selling them! He was just sharing them! i mean there are books about when they demolished Euclid Beach and there are photos from which they tore down Astroland, so why is it forbidden to have the pictures of Geauga Lake's destruction?

Out of site, out of mind is CF's policy. Believe me there are thousands of those pictures floating around and Ive seen most of them. They will show up some day, probably even on this site.

Once you have seen the destruction they all look pretty much the same. The sadness seeing Double Loop being hacked up my mechanical jaws, ramming into the support structure of Villain and watching it finally give way, cranes demolishing and carefully removing the steel from the Emporium just inside the main gate, pulverizing the monorail station and Superman platform, and just plain stripping of the buildings. Its all sad site that CF wants no one to see to keep the whining down to a minimum.

I don't think they ever realized what a mistake they made. I know they felt that the feelings for the park would be gone after two years, they were very wrong.

I dont know whether to beleive this or not.  But I heard that individual was eventually fired.  I heard that from an individual at Chippewa Lake I met who said he bought RWB with Ray Edgehouse.  However, keep in mind with a grain of salt, this individual also gave me a myspace address to view his supposed photos and videos of RWB but then never accepted my friend request to let me view them.

I agree with KinzelKnew.  Out of site out of mind.  They want this park to disappear as fast as possible.

I agree with that one. I went there today there is no construction cranes or anything so I guess everything thats there right now will stay there for a while.

Sadly, a lack of cranes doesn't mean much.

Within two weeks of CF announcing the closure of GLP there were high reach, heavy lift boom cranes on site preparing to dismanltle the coasters.

What's left at GLP that will need a crane?  SkyCoaster (woudn't probably need the type of crane that was needed for the other coasters), Skyscraper (can we all agree that's not coming down to move, it's scrap which means someone wont care about condition - hell, even if I won the lotto and bought the park the Skyscraper is coming down based on the mechanical condition from what I hear)... Dipper (doesn't need a crane, just some experienced people with a bunch of impact wreches and a couple flatbeds).

The crap left on WWK side.  CF has no interest in any of those attractions... that's why they're still at WWK.  They've already been written off... CF is probably hoping for another tornado to level the place so they can collect the insurance money.  If anyone thinks CF hasn't written off GLP/WWK/etc from their books already send me an IM and I'll explain macro-ecomics to you.

Will it close in 2009... I don't know... will it close before we elect another president, oh hell yeah.

Well Yeah I know that. I think everything that is there now will be there for a while. I didnt really mean cranes I just put it as an example. I didnt see any bulldozers or anything of that nature to knock down whats left of the place.

If you go on Thunder Falls, the body slides you can see like where the bounty and the thyphoon thing use to be and it's so bear...it's scary then we went back around the other way and you can kinda see through those stupid green fences and you can see how bare it is. I saw a pic somewhere that the wave pool they put in during hurricane harbor still has water in it and is all green and murky or was that the calypso creek idk I saw a pic somewhere.

It will take a long time for Geauga Lake will go away. Too many people have grown up with the park. This goes back to children under the age of 10.  Kinzel knows his greed will follow him to the grave.  Then maybe will see a change at CF (if they stay in business)

Those were pictures that we saw on here from the one worker working for the steel company. They were taken off of here and he got fired.

But, we have seen all of those before. Still so sad.
