Article 1

2008-2010 - Back Pathway Expansion - Rumor - (8/24/07) If you haven’t read up on the latest doom and gloom rumors for Geauga Lake take a look, because the next ride coming to Michigan’s Adventure may be an Ohio resident.

Article 2

Park News - (8/24/07) Okay…I said I was going to lay off the Geauga Lake stuff for awhile but the message from our latest reader was so urgent, I just had to post something. They claim that not only is the Dominator in danger of being removed, but they claim Thunderhawk may end up being moved as well. They end with the message that anyone wanting to take a last and final ride on any of your favorite rides should do so before the park closes on September 16th because you never know just what may not be there next year.
While Dominator would be a good fit at almost any of the Cedar Fair parks, as the only Floorless coaster in the chain, Thunderhawk would be a more difficult item to fit. If you throw out all the parks that already have B&M Inverted coasters as well as Canada’s Wonderland that already has an SLC… and throw out Kings Dominion which has Volcano: The Blast Coaster, that leaves you with three choices for Thunderhawk:
Kings Island – The least likely since they have Invertigo and Firehawk, and I don’t think they want another castaway from Geauga Lake so soon.
Valleyfair – The park would benefit from Thunderhawk’s small footprint and the only Inverted ride there is Steel Venom. But they just added Renegade, so it may be too much too soon.
Finally we come to Michigan’s Adventure where it’s been rumored that ground activity may have started for something big in the back of the park near the Rapids they added last season. Certainly ThunderHawk would fit in here and the park does have a need for a new coaster.

Source: Screamscape

I know there not a reliable source but its still sad to hear a exact park mentioned and the fact we might lose two more coasters Crying or Very sad

An open memo to Mr. Kinzel and Cedar Fair:
I've been visiting Geauga Lake since 1973.  If Dominator is the next ride to go, then you will have lost me as a paying customer.  Nothing personal though... it's just a business decision on my part.  I'm sure you'll understand that.

And Mr. Kinzel why do you have to be so secretive about removing rides?  Parks like Kennywood and even your Sandusky property announce when a ride is going to be removed so that the "diehards" can go and ride one last time.  You did not afford that option to us in 2006 with Steel Venom and X-Flight and it looks like it may happen again.  Again I ask... why do we have to find out about these ride removals when they are in the process of being dismantled and shipped off to another "fine" Cedar Fair property?

So I guess this means that Super Saturator won't be showing up in Aurora anytime soon...

Ray I agree with everything you said, taking out dominator would kill this park and they would also lose me as a paying customer.

Well said Ray P.

You can count me out also, as I am tired of the secretive removals and changes. At least let us know whats going on so we can get one last ride. If the rumors are true I can guarantee one thing - The Dick will not be happy with me. Evil or Very Mad

If that is the case then i dont think ill ever visit GL again if its literally a water park and the villan. Wow they really cant get rid of the dominator or thunderhawk cause i really dont think anyone wuld coome back. They probly think get rid of GL then everyone will come up to CP. NOPE tht aint goin down if that would happen. I would go to kennywood of course and either go to six flags parks in DC or Hershey. So i highly dought ill ever visit a CF park again if GL loses out on two signature rides.

The Dicks baby CP has not seen an attendance increase this year but GL from what I have seen GL has. The Dick will do everything in his power to squash that, the main reason he bought GL in the first place.

Bill - I am really counting on you to keep GL open with its current line up for many years to come. I know you love the place and you need to tell Dick to leave GL alone!

But what if they pulled these two coasters and put Saturator in? The park does want to stick with it's family atmosphere and Dom. and T.H. both have 52"+ height restrictions.

Villian would be the big boy, and it has a 48" restriction.

Personally, I think TH would end up in Mich and Dom would end up in either WOF or CP.

Of course, I'd prefer it so neither coaster is removed at least until we get something else.

I wouldn't stop visiting if both rides were removed because I love Geauga Lake for what it is, but now is not the time to dilly-dally and not get up there a couple more times.

I didn't want to post this rumor as I got an email from someone warning me to tell others to get all the rides you can in the next several weeks because things just may be drastically changed next year.

Mr Kinzel, you're making a big mistake. The problems with CP's decreasing attendance numbers are not GL's fault. Maybe it's time for a whole new strategy in Sandusky.  DAMN IT, LEAVE GEAUGA LAKE ALONE!

Obviously you haven't been to the park the last month or so to see how its been busy. So just when you are getting people back through the gates you're going to pull a fast one and give them a reason not to return.

Oh, wait, that has been your plan all along.

Gunkey, you should e-mail that post to him.

You Guys really need to really clam down, it's just a rumor, it's not the end of the world, it probably won't even happen.

But, that Kinzel is a ^#@$%$%@##$, IMO.

Obviously you're not going to say who e-mailed you, but is it someone you consider a reliable source?

Wow! You guys are getting off on a screamscape rumor. This would be just like the Six Flags execpt removing too many rides at once. Thunderhawk was just painted, now yes they don't have to repaint it again but MIA is close to GLs market, the 2nd or 3rd closest to the park. You guys make me laugh getting mad at a screamscape rumor. If it is true they lost me too, but I doubt they do this.

^ Trust me, this isn't just a Screamscape rumor.

I don't mind if they remove a few rides, its them putting in more rides that worries me...

If we lose these two coasters and nothing is improved on the ride side for next year, I would seriously bet that the Geauga Lake as we know it will soon become a memory.
