IMO, in its prime(2001) I would of considered SWOA the future flagship park!

i think these rumors started just to boost attendence. then everybody will find out nothing happened, bc nothing is wrong with the rides (except raging bobs, will that ever run?)

I would have to agre with you there Kdude. Who knows what would have happened if SF kept it - good or bad. But I think The Dick noticed that also which is why he is pouncing on it now till its dead hence no more competition.

Dick knows if even a descent owner could get the park to compete with CP. If we had great owners I really think the parks attendence would surpass 1 million. Did the parks attendence ever get past a million?

I have been reading all the points in this topic and I know we are all in agreement that that it is not fair what is happening to our park. I was happy to see that channel 5 heard about what is happening. I hope that if we keep making lots of noice then Mr. Cedarfair will hear us and know that we want our rides to stay in our park!!! Also that we want to see good things happening instead of the bad or nothing!!! Many of us were so happy that CF bought the park back . I know that I had great hopes that since CF is based in Ohio that they would want more people to come to Ohio to enjoy all three parks. Now I get the feeling that they only want us to enjoy being part of the rat race that are part of Cedarpoint and Kings island. Mr. Cedarfair reminds me of Mr Walmart. They both make me ill because they are so many hungry that all the smaller businesses are getting swollowed up. Pretty soon we won't have a choice on anything!! They will chose it for us!!!

I am a current season passholder and I have recently heard rumors of the removal of 1 or more rides this upcoming offseason.  This is unacceptable. I have been a patron of this park for the past 10 years and I have supported it in every aspect.  If these rumors are true then you will have lost a paying customer and one that not only frequents this wonderful park but also several other Cedar Fair parks.  I grew up with this park, my first roller coaster was the Big Dipper and my first looping coaster was the Double Loop.  Nearly 40 years ago, young Cedar Point executives came to the rescue of a faltering amusement park (Geauga Lake).  I had hoped when Cedar Fair bought my beloved park from the Six Flags corporation that the same result would happen.  I am sad to say I am dissappointed with what has occurred so far and I am hoping for some vast improvements.

So with that said, I look forward to good news this offseason but I will not get my hopes up as I have been let down in the past by Cedar Fair promises.

Sincerely,
Brett W. Bunker

Response to my above comments:

Dear Brett,

Thank you for your email, and for your interest in and loyalty to Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom.  We value you as a guest.  Know that your comments have been forwarded to our General Manager for his review.

As a general rule, we do not comment on rumors and speculation.  At this time there is nothing to report.  I assure you that the public will be notified as soon as possible whenever there are important developments to announce.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Anderson
Manager, Admissions & Entertainment
Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom

As diplomatic as possible but at least it's getting forwarded on to Mr. Spehn's desk.

Ha.  It looks like Jennifer has a canned response that she has come up with for all these comments that she has been receiving recently.  I just posted a response I received in another thread. That's funny.  Still, I think it's good that she says the public will be notified.

They cant choose for us this IS AMERICA. I highly highly recommend KENNYWOOD. They know how to handle customers. Last Sunday night i went and it started to pour and the company has a policy that they cant give refunds due to rain. It started to rain at 7 and i was in line for the jack rabbit and soon it was just me and my friend. We were told by the crew that the park would probably open up soon, but it didn't and i ended up waiting for an hr and a half. We went to see how the PR line was cause the station was sheltered, but then announcement was that the park would close early, so we decided to leave. We went to guest information and the lady said we usually don't give refunds and she said she wouldn't. Then the gm came in and said yeanz are real soaked and we said we waited in line for an hr and half being told the park would re open, and he said we'll get you boys refunds. KENNYWOOD IS RELIABLE AND IS THE BEST PICK FOR GL FANS.

^ Uhhh, unless the GM hadn't of come up, it doesn't sound like they would have given you a refund.  So unless you always see the GM, I wouldn't call it more reliable.

And yes it is America, but rarely do companies let customers decide how they run their business.
