This one was filmed at Kennywood.
Except there is a shot of Ferris wheel and a Spider-type ride that were not from Kennywood -- anyone know where that shot was taken?
Definitely not a movie for kids due to drug use, sex, DUI etc. It was billed as a comedy (and there was some of that) but the core was really more of a heavy drama. Kind of depressing and if they were being realistic (and not Hollywood) they would have ended it three minutes earlier on the river bank. Some worthwhile performances, but it is not for everyone. It does capture some of that transient summer community that can arise at any amusement park, summer job or neighborhood, with people back from somewhere or off to somewhere else soon, but together for the summer.
Anyway, certain areas of Kennywood were used heavily -- the area near the Racer and also the Wipeout (replaced in 2009 by Bayern Kurve)/Musik Express area. Anyone else see it? |

The arcade is used pretty heavy, too.
There's also a Casino/Round-Up type ride that is used in shots just outside the "office". |

I saw it a while ago when it first came out. I really liked it. it definitely wasn't what they advertised it as but I enjoy a good drama. So while my friends were disappointed, I'd watch it again. |

Has anyone seen the previews for Zombieland yet?
It's looking like Adventureland meets Evil Dead, but with more comedy and less teenage wangst. |

I'm thinking the one brief non-Kennywood shot with a Ferris wheel and Spider at night might be Idlewild. Anyone know? |

I don't think that shot was filmed at Idlewild, but I remembered a scene like the one you mentioned that was definitely not Kennywood. It looked like it was filmed at a county fair. |

^ The Kennywood shots were filmed in November 08, so they had to digitally make the trees green. And Yes, some rides were provided by a carnival, probably in L.A. somewhere.
