Usually I just go to my local mall to look around. Not many people these days can afford a $150 pair of jeans from Nordstrom. |

I remember going to Rolling Acres much more than Summit Mall growing up. I think the whole surrounding area tanking is the major reason the mall fell to the wayside. If there would've still been stores around it, I think it could've gotten a Summit-esque facelift. I still like Rolling Acres' "ahead of its time but still retro" interior over Summit Mall today.
I have a friend who works at the Sears there. He says they still turn a good profit. It is a nice store with quite a large variety of stuff. |
Is it true I heard the mall itself is up for online auction?
I agree Rolling Acres in its day was a great mall. I used to love when my parents took us there. I far preferred that place over Chapel Hill or Summit Mall. _________________ Rob G. - Sea World Ohio and Geauga Lake Fan.

I was there for an easter egg hunt when I was really little. I remember the glass elevator and the skylights were really cool to look at.
I'd kinda like to get a tour of Rolling Acres just to see how it was laid out in its final years... Being from Tallmadge we never got over that way until the JCPenny's became an outlet, and then just for the Penny's. |

Never been to Rolling Acres myself. Chapel Hill is ok, but I don't remember the last time I as in there. Only reason I hit Summit Mall is for the Indians Team shop, another place I haven't been in a while. My favorite mall, and from from being dead, in this area is Belden Village. _________________ I don't like a certain company so everything they do MUST be wrong, even if it's right. Take a stand against coasters that hurt or kill people. Holiday World & Knotts Berry Farm, we are watching you! |

I was at Belden last weekend. Yes its very much thriving. I am tending to like that mall even more as well.
I think Chapel Hill in the next 10 years is going to start having its problems too. A lot of crime over there. _________________ Rob G. - Sea World Ohio and Geauga Lake Fan.

See, I keep hearing how much crime is supposedly going on at Chapel Hill, but it seems to all be hearsay... I'm in the mall and plaza a lot and have never seen any kind of crime scene type of reaction...
Kind of like I keep hearing that people were getting attacked in Rolling Acres' parking lot by people hiding under SUVs, but can't find any news articles about it. |
