RANDOM THOUGHTS
(First I just want to point out that no update was featured here last week since it was due to the rumors going on and we already had a thread focusing on that subject.)
You couldn't have asked for better weather for a day at the park. It was stunning. And I can't believe it's September already.
When I arrived around 12:30, the lot wasn't quite half full and the ride side was very light. What coasters I could see as I approached the main gate were running with just a few riders in each train. Rides were pretty much walk-ons the entire day though it would pick up a little once Wildwater Kingdom closed. No wait whatsoever. Unlike last Saturday, all coasters with multiple trains were running both trains.
Texas Twister was still down when I arrived. I thought it would be closed again this week but I did spot maintenance working on it and the ride did eventually open later on. However Double Loop went down sometime around late afternoon/ early evening, which is unusual for that ride as it's always been a consistent performer, and stayed closed the rest of the day.
Magic Mike is now appearing at the Palace Theater, just like forum member Live_Entertainment told us a short while ago. If you didn't get a chance to see him when he performed earlier in the season, his show is equally as good as Tim Hill's.
I caught another showing of LEGO Racers 4D and even though my thoughts were rather mixed at the start of the season now, after seeing it three times this year, I must say it really is a pretty good film. I guess it takes seeing it a few times to finally "get" it.
This year it has been hard for me to stay a full day at the park but yesterday I did and got my first night rides of the year. Nothing impresses me more than Villain at night. With Double Loop closed, it created an eerie feeling in that back corner since there were no lights coming from the station or its lift and Haybaler has minimal lighting already. The lights were burned out in the Villain queue so it wasn't really easy getting to the ride though there was just enough light coming from outside Villain's station to find your way.
Villain at night is truly a delight. It's not as dark as it used to be with the addition of some lighting by the back turn (which I guess is for the camera they installed this year) but it brought back a lot of great memories from 2000 when we would get multiple re-rides without getting out of the train as we were the last riders of the day. Good times. |

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I rode Thunderhawk and Dominator three times and didn't see any unusual markings or early signs of removal around them.
It was pretty much business as usual. _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |

I'm starting to believe that TH and Dominator aren't going, because CF is dumb enough to put markings in areas were u can see. _________________ TOP 5 FAVORITE RIDES: 1.Maverick. 2. BATMAN KNIGHT FLIGHT( forever at SFWOA). 3.X-flight( forever at SFWOA). 4. Millenuem Force. 5. Phantoms reveng |

| Darnit...I originally planned on going yesterday. The the absolutely gorgeous weather just makes me regret not going that much more. Hopefully we'll have great weather on the 15th, maybe with a little chill in the air (anyone else enjoy amusement parks more when its cool out?). And I need to get some night rides, we didn't stay long enough when I've gone this year for it to get dark out. |

Sorry Gunkey...
But 'Lego Racers 4D' is the worst 4D film we've ever witnessed. My Godson loved all the 3D/4D films that were there since 2001, including Mission: Bermuda Triangle, and he said that 'Lego Racers 4D was stupid and boring' mostly based on NO Voiceovers and the appeal of 5 year olds and under! To me, it looked like they spent so much money on CGI graphics, that there was no money left for voice talent.
IMO, They should have kept 'Robots of Mars' for a while longer!

I think that's the "charm" of LEGO Racers - it makes you pay attention to the story. It's about racing, what more can you add to that?
I can see it being boring for some younger kids as there was no talking but after my viewing on Saturday, quite a few people actually clapped at the end.
I think "Robots of Mars" had lost its audience. I only saw it a few times and got bored with it rather quickly. |

That was the simulator ride. It was replaced with Dino Island II in 2005. |
