From the park's Twitter page. Although not a hint of what kind of ride, it appears whatever is going in either won't cause Paddlewheel Excursions to have to be removed, or will incorporate the "storyline" of the stunt.

Pay fountains, is Dick that hard up for money he has lost by closing Geauga Lake?

Well I'm 99% sure CP will be getting an Intamin Flume. Notice they never ruled out intamin... Can't wait to see the layout. As Coasterdad said, if this is a flume which it probably is, it will be an excellent addition to CP.

More than likely this will be some sort of Intamin but I would really like to see what Mack could bring to the park. They have some pretty cool looking water rides in Europe.

Cedar Point releases information regarding its new attraction for 2010

Sandusky Register-

During a short press interview earlier today, Cedar Point's Public Relations Director Robin Innes commented on the new attraction that will open at the amusement park in 2010:

"After the success of Magnum XL-200's new sign, which was added this year for the ride's 20th anniversary, we've decided to create an even bigger and better sign for next season. Located near the Frontier Trail, the sign will hold the world record for the largest ever erected on the park's 'Millennium Island'. I can promise you that it will be something else."

Innes went on to state that the sign will have the words "Whyte Lightning" scrawled upon it, and that the sign is expected to debut on My 18, 2010, unless it is determined that the decorative corkscrew element atop the sign must be removed.

The announcement isn't going to be made until 9:10am . Go to sleep and wake up then. Watch it at the Cedarpoint site or http://whytelightning.com/.
