What a great day at CP. I was expecting a big crowd as there was a lot of traffic on 250 and with hearing about the huge crowds all of last week, I was surprised to see it was not a very crowded day!

So got there at like 11 and entered at the side entrance by Famous Dave's and the employee dorms. We rode ID dragon first what was about a 15 minute wait. Someone threw up so it made the wait a little longer. How do you throw up on Iron Dragon?? Good ride. Next we did Mantis and we waited like an hour and again someone threw up so it made the wait a little longer. I had not ridden Mantis in ages so it was fun to try it out again. Overall the ride is OK. Time to eat! So we went to coasters and I got that kiddie corn dog basket and a drink for like $9.04. It was yumm. We were hoping to sit inside because of the heat, but every seat was taken in the restaurant so we ate outside.

Next we took the train to Frontier Town (noticed Maverick was down) to ride Thunder Canyon. TC was like a 10 minute wait and got a little drenched. It felt good though, because of the heat! Next we did Mine Ride and waited maybe like 10 minutes. We did the front row. Fun little ride. Then we did Mean Streak. Line was at the bottom of the stairs, probably since Maverick was down. It was funny though, because we waited for the front so we were in a line for that and while waiting the station totally cleared out probably because Maverick opened while in line. Now I try to defend Mean Streak, but I can't anymore. It was so rough and we were in the front. As we were getting off lots of people were warning the people getting on about how rough it is. I think MS needs to be retired or re-tracked to make it in good shape like other woodies. Do something with it! After MS, I bought a water bottle at The Roundup and we sat for a little bit away from the heat!

Maverick had a line coming out of the entrance so we passed on that. We walked over to Paddlewheel and rode that. Not much going on at the "mystery site". Then we walked all the way over to Disaster Transport for the air and ride. The line was not being air conditioned today so we just walked out of line. It was hotter in there than it was outside! Next we played a basketball game. My sister tried 3 times ($2 each) and missed all 3 times. She was trying to win something for her BF. I finally said "let me do it!" and I made it on the first shot. So we walked over to Raptor and waited maybe like 10 minutes. Awesome ride as usual. Then we ran through the new fountain. It was fun. Next we did Dodgems, Cadillac Cars, and Iron Dragon again and went over to TGI Friday's on the beach at Hotel Breakers for dinner. We met the rest of the fam there and had a good dinner. It was crowded and lots were in line to check into the hotel.

After dinner we rode Magnum which was like a 20 minute wait and then we did MF which was like an hour wait. We had great rides on both and then rode the Cadillac Cars one more time with the fam and decided to leave. We had a really good day!

I really don't care what others think. I had a fun day and that's all that matters. CP was not very crowded that day but it was jammed last week and weekend. Today it looks packed on the webcam, lots were checking in last night to the hotel, and 1 bad day will not effect them.

Screw the haters. They mean nothing.

Hmmm, short lines you say. Similar to my experience and many others. So you still think CP is packed and not having problems this season? So the A/C in DT was off? Hmmm, maybe due to cutbacks? Soak City was dead also as reported in another TR. On such hot day you would think SC would be packed!! This past weekend there were a larger number than usual of company picnics, not necessarily something that helps the bottom line.

Now lets have some fun, lets see what a "ride warrior" does at CP in one day:

Iron Dragon
Mantis
Time to eat! kiddie corn dog basket and a drink $9.04.
Train to Frontier Town
Thunder Canyon
Mine Ride
Mean Streak.
Paddlewheel
Disaster Transport
Played a basketball game.
Raptor
Ran through the new fountain.
Dodgems,
Cadillac Cars
Iron Dragon again
TGI Friday's on the beach at Hotel Breakers for dinner.
Magnum
Millennium Force
Home

Where is the ride on Maverick and TTD? What lines too long?

Now if it was me and I called myself a ride warrior many of those rides wouldn't be on my list, but hey, what do I know.

I find it interesting that we do agree on one thing, Mean Streak is good for one thing, firewood. Its a worthless ride, although it does add to their mighty coaster count.

Great TR, it only proves one thing though, that what everyone is saying is true. CP is having problems.

Oh, and I'm not a hater, just a realist.

^Remember, once you puke coming off a ride, you are not allowed to question why others puke on a ride.

You would have cooled off better on Snake River Falls.  I guarantee that.

I go to CP all the time. I don't feel the need to go on EVERY ride when I go. It's no big loss. I have already been on those rides thousands of times. Great rides, but no need too if the lines are long.

TTD was a no because no one in my family likes that ride. They're too scared. I didn't want to wait alone.

Maverick had a line coming out of the entrance once it opened back up.

That's odd.  I was there on Saturday afternoon and at 1:00 pm when we arrived, the main parking lot was about 60% full.  The Magnum lot where we parked was about 40% full.  Plenty of good spaces to be had.

Now, I'm sure some Brain Dead Ride Warrior will say "But Ray, it was raining Saturday afternoon.  What do you expect?"  To which I will say "I don't care what the weather was.  Those kinds of numbers in the parking lot don't exactly equate to a "jammed" park.

Screw those that worship only the Sandusky Property.  They mean nothing.

I think the $9.04 is ridiculous for a kiddie corn dog and a drink. Hell, I thought I was getting ripped off when I paid $8 for chicken fingers, fries and a drink up at Warped Tour.

^^ That is funny Ray. You would think that with all the discounts and picnics CP would be packed on a Saturday in August, I know for a fact it always was.....even with rain.

Oh, yes...I forgot to point out that Parker had a KIDDIE corn dog and whatever for almost $10 friggin dollars, hilarious. I guess a TR by Parker is the most telling proof of how bad CP is really doing.

I did!
-Tickets for family excluding me, because I have a season pass
-$9.04 for lunch
-$3.09 for a water bottle
-$8 in games
-Not sure the price at TGI Friday's, because I didn't pay, but there were 5 of us.

It did rain all day Saturday, but CP was jammed all last week so that makes up for it. The overflow lot was used TWICE last week.

Remember, we have Halloweekends still and that helps CP A LOT!

What kind of ride warrior doesn't like waiting in line for a ride by themself?  That's the perfect way to meet new people.  For years, my family did just that.  If one or two of us didn't want to ride, or couldn't for some reason, they went off and did their thing, while I (most of the time we) did another.

I used to complain about the prices at CP until the wife and I saw Star Trek a few months ago at an AMC Theater and I noticed the small popcorn was $5.75.

Changing subjects...
If the weather holds out for Halloweekends... I would expect record crowds.

Same, my local theater charged me $4 for a coke. That's worse than CP's $3.

CP will have large crowds for Halloweends, but there is no way it will compensate for the poor attendance they had this summer.

As far as those prices at movie theaters, all the more reason I don't go to first run movies.

That's why I tend to sneak my food and drinks into the movies in the first place. I've never been to Halloweekends but it would be a different experience. I've always had a blast at Kennywood's Fright Nights, however.
