Kennywood's Huss Top Spin is listed on this site as being for sale. I'm kind of surprised as it seems like a pretty popular ride there. Has KW had issues with the ride recently or maybe are they planning on a new re-theme of Volcano Valley in the future? _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Kennywood never had that as a new ride. They got it from their sister park, Lake Compounce, a few years back. It is older, needs work and is down quite frequently as of last year. Not sure about this year, I haven't been or heard anything about any extended downtime.
Honestly, they really never used it to full capacity, that I saw (only during fright nights did I see it full).
Most likely we will see a re-theme of Volcano Valley, possibly adding a smaller ride in that footprint to give more diverse selection in that area.
In all honesty, the ride SQUEEEEALLLLED horribly due to them using the water effects. Good riddance. I hated the top spins. They crushed my ta-tas. _________________ Katie |

It states that the ride was built in 1992. There was no Top Spin (Park Model) built in America at that time. Texas Twister, the first one, didn't arrive until 1993, so it obviously came from another country.
I assume the previous owners didn't take care of it, as Kennywood have had alignment issues on it since day one.
Another notable piece on the used ride site is this Swing Around, that looks awfully like Kennywoods, which is supposedly sitting in storage. I'm surprised because I knew they wanted it to be put back up. Guess Not.

It could possibly be Kennywood's. I know they wanted to keep the ride, but put it at the sister parks and not back at Kennywood. The ride was getting old and parts were harder to find is what I heard. _________________ Katie |

Looking at the Huss catalog they don't offer the Swing Around anymore but the smaller Bee Bee (GL's old Thriller Bees). _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |

I wouldn't mind if they got rid of the King Kahuna, that ride wasn't very popular to begin with, considering the amount of people that I've seen on the ride before. As for Volcano Valley, they really need to re-theme that area since it doesn't really blend in with the rest of the park. Perhaps they may change it back to how it originally was and convert the Volcano back to the Enterprise. |

i went on it at kennywood for the first time this year, expecting it to be exactly the same as Texas Twister. But it seemed like half of the ride was missing; it only rotated in one direction, and was over super quick. I was wondering if that's just the way they have it set, or if it's built into it and that was the full ride...
