I"M BACK!!!  I'm not going to do a large tr here. I think alot of it would be like rayp's. We went camping at the King's dominion campground for 6 nights. the campground was very nice and had huge pine trees everywhere. The bathroom/ showers needed some help, but not horribly bad. A gentleman told me that the campground had been scheduled for modernization right before cf bought them. Nope not done yet. more modern facilaties would have made it a great campground. We went to Busch Gardens on our 2nd full day there. Temp topped out at 108 but didn't feel that bad. Wow!! What a beautiful park!! clean, very well landscaped and rides not on top of you. We started over at alpingeist and was a nice ride!! I like the layout of raptor better but the scenery was fantastic. We next hit Dar Kastle. Like omg what a great dark ride!! Best ever!! Want to do it again and again. Can you tell I liked it alot?

We went to big bad wolf next. The first thing I noticed was the "wet paint" sign on the rails. What they are keeping up maintinance on a coaster that is coming down? The ride looked brand spankin new!  Ride was the best of its type and did not dissapoint!! Again with the scenery!! Went on about 6 times and best in the back seat!  Next was  lock ness monster, What, a smooth arrow? holy crap. Great ride, again best of its type for me. Next is griffon. Nice ride, very short but well worth going on. Would like it to be longer.  Had to eat as dicky says so over to festhouse. I thought 65 dollars was high for food, but it was good.( I spent a total of about 260 at busch and 7.99 over 2 days at kd. so off to big bad wolf again for a couple more spins. It is getting dark now so up to the front for apollos chariot. Line was walk on and what a great coaster!! Rode on 7 times in an hour and mostly walk on to back seat!! This coaster blows away diamondback at ki. It has the same restraints as db which I like alot. This was the best ride in the park for me. Well they had to kick us out of the park. This was a really great park!!

We also spent 2 days at Kings dominion (free to get in). Went right to dominator. Waited for the front seat and was a great ride. Not as smooth as at geauga lake but still a fun ride. Btw lines were very short throughout the day. Over to volcano we go, very nice ride that was very smooth. then to annaconda, OUCH!!! horribly rough ride, won't ride that one again! Next to stunt coaster and is the same as ki, nice small ride, then to flight of fear, very fun ride!!. We went over by avalanche, but closed. Rode later and was realy neat ride. So over to eldorado and americana. both never painted and showing some age for "new rides". My son loved eldorodo and we rode it like 10 times. On to ricochet which my kids loved. on to hurler Yuck horrible woodie. Over to grizzly which was a nice coaster and rebel yell was pretty smooth compared to the racer. Than went through the park a couple more times throughout the 2 days. The park was ok with a weird layout of paths through the park.  Not a great park, better than Mia but not as nice as Geauga lake!!It should be a nice coaster that the add next year, looks big!!

The rest of the vacation we saw dolphins in the ocean, saw the President land in our helicopter on the lawn of the White house and was amazed at all the sights in DC ( first time there) and we even went to a little amusement park on 14th street at virginia beach( thanks Skyglider). All in All it was a great vacation filled with alot of new experiances for my kids. Even the rides up and down were fine with the portable dvd player!!(if you have kids you know what I mean)

The best was Busch gardens and washington by far, but the rest was very fun as well.

Was this your first time at BG and KD?

$65 is high for food but the quality, let me say that again quality, is far superior to the same old burgers and fries at most parks. At BGW I don't have a problem with paying for the food as long as I get a decent portion and decent quality. From what I remember from my last trips there in 2002 and 2003.

Grogan's in Ireland has the stew in a baked potato or bread bowl.

Ristorante Della Piazza in San Marco has the cannelloni and chicken parmagian and you can treated to the outdoor show next door.

Trapper's Smokehouse in New France has the beef brisket that literally melts in your mouth.

Festhaus has the excellent corned beef and OMG huge Black Forest Cake.

As for KD, it's an okay park. They may have more coasters but I personally don't think they can top BGW with anything they do there. They need to really step it up to be a serious competitor to Busch and while that new giga coaster may have heads turning next year it still won't be a match for the quality and effort BGW puts into their park and rides. We all know CF better than that.  Wink

This was our first trip to both parks. They both had ups and Kd had a couple downs but did have potential. I never really sat down and thought about the difference between amusement park and Theme park. Going to these parks really makes you see how different they are!

The food was good and I  did feel it was a better deal than the 47 dollars spent for McDonalds at the smithsonian.

I had a great great time at Bgw, however my best memory from the trip will be from Kd. We were in the middle of a eldorodo marathon and I looked over at my son and saw the biggest smile!! When it was at GL he was too short and really wanted to go on in 2007. Well, he got his chance to go on and  he absolutely loved it.

If I could go back to one park, it would have to be Bgw. One thing I noticed was the bathroom fixtures with the anheiser logo on them. I just thought those were cool.

All in all it was the best vacation we had ever taken!! I even had thoughts of moving down there.
