Hard to believe we are approaching the 20 year anniversary of the end of the '80s. The '50s nostalgia seemed to really take off in the mid-'80s, wonder if the same thing will happen in the next few years with the '80s.

Not sure if some of you remember but they 70's disco made a small comeback in the early to mid-90's. Some radio stations used to play non-stop disco on Saturday nights.

The 80's will be back on the airwaves soon. Everything seems to have a cycle. I wish I had cable. I love VH-1 Classic.

http://www.80stvthemes.com/  when this site wants to work...VERY good site for reliving your childhood, or early adult hood.

When I think back to the 80's there was not too much that stands out. Bad cars, bad music, bad hair......but there was an amusement park that I liked to go to.

Speaking of which, if you get chance rent Adventureland. Its a movie filmed at Kennywood last year I believe, set in the glorious 80's. Then you will remember how bad the 80's really were.

The film was actually filmed in 2007 during Phantom Fright Nights during the day and then they had to scramble and have only a few hours on the weekends to reset that area to be ready for patrons.

I have yet to see the movie, but I heard the extras were hilarious.

I was wondering if it was filmed during or immediately after PFN. Its summer in the movie and the leaves are turning colors.

Also, did they bring in a Wipeout or did KW have one back then?

KW did have a Wipeout. It was moved to the Bayern Kurve site to make way for Swing Shot and then removed to make way for the Bayern Kurve's return.
