I think Cedar Point needs rides that are unique AND family friendly at the same time. Go to Universal Studios in Orlando and you'll find a lot of state-of-the-art rides like Men in Black: Alien Attack, Revenge of the Mummy and the Earthquake ride. This water ride is fine but Cedar Point needs to stick with the awe factor more.

Lets see....

• The park will adjust the splash accordingly to the weather. Again, they don't plan on "Soaking" riders, but they do have that option, just like Holiday World.

• Wow Factor rides are incredibly expensive. The Mummy cost Universal well over $40 Million to build. (and that's why the gate price there is nearly $70.00) Cedar Fair will most likely NEVER do another dark ride due to the cost, vandalism (which led to the closure of Pirate Ride), and capacity.

• Lesser expensive rides like Magnum and Raptor still give guests the "awe factor" even after 20 years.

And you have all the answers on how CF should do things.  Well then why the hell aren't you the CEO?  If you were half as smart as you thought you were, maybe you would be.

Would you like some cheese with your whine?

I'm really surprised by the negative comments about the ride's name.  Shoot The Rapids was one of the greatest rides of The Flagship's past and this is a neat way to remember that history.  Sure this ride will be NOTHING like the original, but it looks like it'll be a fun ride, even if there is a waterfall involved.

I still can't stand Dickie K, Sweaty Bill or the Extreme Fanboys, but I am looking forward to the 2010 version of Shoot The Rapids at The Flagship.

BTW- look at the line for the original STR.  Ouch!

I think I am a little smarter than Dick...anyone is.  And I'm probably a little smarter than you, too....as much as it hurts, Cuddy.   Laughing

OK, enough already!

Some people like it some don't. I think I am beginning to like it more than at first since I understand you don't get as drenched as I had originally thought.

BTW - who made the original STR at CP? Was it an in house design?

^Alright CD, I'll back down...just all this bitching about a ride that's not even built yet.  So know one knows how much its gonna suck or rock.  I mean geez, a lot of people are acting like spoiled brats because this isn't what they expected or whatever...  What's next?  Are people going to bi*** when Ratliff get's named the starter for the Browns over Quinn and Anderson?

You build something for the enthusiasts, everyone else bitches; you build for family, enthusiasts bi***.

Like I said on another site, the enthusiasts are really putting the a** in enthusiass.

The ride will be great. I can't wait to ride! The theme is very cool. I think the waterfall is pointless too. I think we need to remember the animation for Maverick. Some of the water effects shown in the video were not brought to life. Let's hope the same for the waterfall. I can't wait to ride! It should be a blast.
