Thanks for the post John but I do not believe it is as great of a ride as you suggest, WWL was much better. While it may be decent ride, CP does not need another "super soaker" of a ride. The ride will have limited ridership, especially on cold days. They could have done much better than this. _________________ GL's demise was caused by one mans foolish greed.

Looks like a nice water ride. This is something they have needed and I think they are using the land they have nicely. It just makes you wonder what CP is planning for the next rollercoaster. _________________ -Kevin |

I'm on board with John, looks fun. I also think the lines will be long and ridership high, cresting during the hot days, of course.
What's up with the, "Individual over-the-head lap bars with hand grips', they don't want anyone to take a spill, I'm guessing. And, "Individual seats; five rows of two per boat", no bench seating to get close with your lady friend, I'm afraid.
Look's like I'll have to dip into my wallet for another visit next season.
I will say I do like the look of traditional log rides compared to this. Should make for a fun ride at the back of the park. |

White Water Landing, though nice in it's time, took up a lot of space, had much more limited capacity and was hidden by a marketing standpoint.
Oh, and due to it's age, was requiring more expensive upkeep. All that water and weight cause more stress to the structure than coasters do.
This ride is built low to the ground, and should suffer less structural wear. Snake River Falls, for example, is most likely in the last 1/3 of it's service Life.
How do you know that this isn't as good as WWL? You haven't ridden it yet! |

Comment was based on the soak factor. Getting wet is one thing, getting drenched sucks. _________________ GL's demise was caused by one mans foolish greed.

Some people are just like that.
But its not some roided up one trick pony over 500 foot wooden floorless coaster that I WANTED. I'm going to boycott the park! _________________ I don't like a certain company so everything they do MUST be wrong, even if it's right. And that makes me look like a bigger fool.
Take a stand against coasters that hurt or kill people. Holiday World & Knotts Berry Farm, we are watching you! |

Ahhh, now I see what you mean, Coasterdad.... But check this out:
The ride has an adjustable system built-in where you can control how wet people will get and how big the splash will be. (similar to Holiday Worlds new ride)
The plan is to "Not' soak people, but they can adjust that accordingly to the weather and demand. |

Sign me up as someone who a) likes the way this ride looks and b) absolutely loves the name. Major props to the CF naming folks for actually paying tribute to one of The Flagship’s greatest defunct rides. It certainly beats “Whyte Lightning” or “Water Ride with Elevated Hills”.
I do have two rhetorical questions though:
1) Why is the first hill bigger than the last hill? I don’t understand that.
2) What is this “shoot” through the rock work? Will there be LIM’s under the water to propel the boat forward? Or is this just Marketing’s way of saying the splash zone?
Regardless, I’ll ride it next year as I do enjoy flume rides.
And to any of the deranged CP Fanboys that say this ride will “own” anything at Holiday World including Voyage, you really need to stop comparing flume rides with roller coasters.
Edit: I just watched the video and it appears the boat gets drowned by a waterfall midway through. Why Flagship... why? _________________ http://rayp.smugmug.com |

LAME!!!!
I am NOT at all interested in this ride. Lame, lame, lame. Isn't SRF enough?! I mean, come on.
And did anyone else read about how it said it was in filtered, chlorinated water? OK then...I'd like to see Dicky boy drink that water then if they make it sound so clean.
I am disgusted that they took the name from the old flume ride from years ago and are using it for this ride.
The hill on this ride doesn't even look steep. I "rode" it on this video. If they want to capture me with a ride of this nature, they need to get a PP like Knott's Berry Farm has. Now that ride is FUN!
Once again, we are let down by Cedar Fair. <sigh> When will it end? |

You are missing the entire point. The demographic of this ride is NOT for thrill seekers, it is for the ENTIRE family. That means ma and pa, little Johnny and Suzie, plus grandma and grandpa. That demographic wants "gentle thrills" like you would find on Splash Mountain at Disney or Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knott's. No super high hills, NO steep drops, NO insane speeds....just gentle simple fun. This is the niche Shoot the Rapids fills, not the adreneline teen age junkie demo.
If you want high hills, steep drops and insane drenching ride Snake River Falls. |

The bigger hill comes first because the land area used allows for a longer run out over on Millenium Island, to get over there you have to have a lift and drop and thus the larger came first.
The rapids boats "shoot" through on the second drop will just be an adjustable splash zone they can control the soak factor on. As well, the waterfall boats run under will be adjusted according to weather conditions too. |

The new ride looks like it will be fun. I miss WWL so it will be nice to see the new one go in. I wonder if they are waiting to put in another coaster in until 2011 since they have several larger project going in at Kings Dominion and Carowinds? The only part that will be a draw back is if we have another coll summer next year, it will make the crowds smaller for that ride unless the water is heated. It is a cool name though... _________________ Life is like a rollercoaster. It is full of ups and downs! |

YOU are missing the entire point. Reread what I wrote. I said if CF wants to capture me with a ride of this nature, then they need something like Perilous Plunge.
I don't care to get drenched...I really don't. And the times I rode Perilous Plunge, I never got "drenched". Have you even ever ridden it?
I would be happy with another WWL and/or Pepsi Plunge, even. This ride they're introducing does not appeal to me or my family one bit, and I think it's a big waste of money.
Oh and another thing, SNF is also LAME!!!! So now we are stuck with 2 lame water rides at CF, 3 if you count TC. |

Looks like a needed addition to the Point. I would've rather seen a coaster, but do they really need more? Yes. Anyway, I'll ride it as I do everything that comes out new? I'm just pleased that they(CF) didn't paint the ride red/yellow! |
