These so-called “awards” hold as much credibility as my awards and Top Coasters do.  It’s someone else’s opinion… not mine.

Shouldn’t the park that was voted “The Best” have other top vote-getters?  Why didn’t The Flagship™ win the Best Steel Coaster award?  If The Flagship™ is so clean, why didn’t they win the Cleanest Park award?  I keep hearing how The Flagship’s™ food is so delicious and is like paradise to anyone who eats it, but some yay-hoo park in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania won Best Food.  I also hear that The Flagship’s™ employees are the friendliest you’ll find, yet another park that maybe 5 people in Ohio have heard of won those honors.  Why didn’t The Flagship™ win Best Kids Area?  I have been told that Planet Snoopy is so much better than when it was Looney Tunes Boomtown at Six Flags Ohio.  You get the picture.  So tell me deranged fanboys, what makes The Flagship™ the “best”?  Their wooden and steel coasters aren’t “the best”.  Their food isn’t “the best”.  It certainly isn’t the “Cleanest” park.  So what is it?  Couldn’t be that these “Golden Ticket Awards” are completely and utterly wortheless could it?

Just a thought for the afternoon.

Best New Ride of 2009 (Amusement Park) Prowler:
Never heard of it, honestly.

Best New Ride of 2009 (Waterpark) Congo River Expedition:
If I'm ever within 600miles of this park I'll make a special side trip to make it there.

Best Park Cedar Point:
Really?  I liked IOA about 3x more then this place.

Best Waterpark Schlitterbahn:
Must make it there within my lifetime.

Best Children's Park Legoland California:
Kids do like logo.

Best Marine Life Park SeaWorld Orlando:
Makes sence...

Best Seaside Park Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk:
Has any other park won this award?

Best Indoor Waterpark ... :
Been to one, been to all, am I right?

Friendliest Park Silver Dollar City:
Most subjective award on this list?

Cleanest Park Holiday World:
Is this like an MVP award for street sweeps?

Best Shows Dollywood:
Not much of a show person.

Best Food Knoebels Amusement Resort:
Anyone been here to confirm this?

Best Water Ride (Amusement Park) Dudley Do Right’s Ripsaw Falls:
I'll be there in 2 weeks, cant wait.

Best Waterpark Ride Master Blaster:
You mean to say no other water ride in the past 5 plus years managed to better this one?  I call hogwash...  Still want to make it to the 'bahn.

Best Kids' Area Kings Island:
ok...but technically, isn't legoland one giant kids area and therefor the best Kid's area?

Best Dark Ride Amazing Adventures of Spiderman:
110% agree.  Possibly the best amusement park ride I've ever been on.

Best Outdoor Night Production Epcot:
Looked good while  was there, quite the spectacle.

Best Landscaping Busch Gardens Williamsburg:
Is this award really needed?

Best Halloween Event Universal Orlando;
Be there in 2 weeks, may go although it is a price event.

Best Christmas Event Dollywood:
Once more, is this category needed?

Best Carousel Knoebels Amusement Resort:
Never been, but I hear Seabreeze has quite the setting and I have the most fun on the racing one at CP.

Best Indoor Coaster Revenge of the Mummy:
I'll let you know in two weeks Wink

I did notice Silver Dollar City made it high in a lot of the categories.  Anyone been there?  Also, outside of 'Best park', CP didn't make it in the top 5 of ANY OTHER category.  How is that possible?

Thanks Ray for beating me to it, I also had the same thoughts after reading.

OK fanboys answer the question, how is it that they can win the coveted "best park in the world" but win no other awards. Yes I know they have "the #2 steel coaster" etc, but as Ray said if its the best park you would think they would win #1 in all categories. Could it be that the Golden Ticket is fixed? Ballot stuffing comes to mind here - hahaha.

Its nice to know that the #2 park Knoebels only 14% below the ballot stuffing number CP got, unfortunately Knoebles deserves the praise, CP does not.

3 of the top steel costers are CP's. That's just the top 10 too. They don't need to win all of those other awards to get "Best Park". It's a poll and is not fixed. You just can't take the fact that others and myself think CP is the best park out there.

Since polls are not fixed, I asked 10 people at work what they thought was the “Best” park.  Each of these people have been to more than one amusement park, but are not true coaster geeks.

4 people said Kennywood.  3 people said “Disney World”.  2 said The Flagship™.  And one person said “Six Flags in Chicago”.

So, congratulations to Kennywood for being voted “Best Park”.  The numbers in this poll don’t lie using the logic that “polls are not fixed”.  It seems Deranged Fanboys just can’t face the fact that some people and myself DON’T think The Flagship™ is the best park out there.

Oops, my mistake, I didn't see CP has three of the top steel coasters (#2, 9, 10)! Because a good wood coaster, an award winning water park, park cleanliness, employee friendliness, great food, good shows, a great children's area, great landscaping, best Halloween event, a good dark ride, and a great carousel matter little to me when I decide what park is the best. Rolling Eyes

PS to troll #1 - your post doest count in answering why this fake award was bestowed upon a park that should not be rated the way it has. And yes, we are still interested in hearing how you think it should be.

How can an Ohio State player win the Heisman, but his team not win the National Championship?  Same concept here.

Makes me wonder...in the days of Geauga Lake/Six Flags Ohio/Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, has that park won anything from Amusement Today?  Are you perhaps harboring a deeper resentment than what you let on?  Just because Geauga Lake wasn't that great of a park?

Who gives a f*** about these awards? We all have our preferences as to what we think is the best in these categories and yet we all debate who the winners are every damn year these things come out.

These awards as well as this thread are pointless.

The award is actually meaningless other than promotion for CF.

CP is a good park, not a great worlds best. GL was not the best park in the world either, just my home park. Just had to remind everyone just in case someone wanted to assume something because they don't know.

PS - how do coasters kill people?

Can I bring back my awards from last year that are a knock off of the GT's except everyone gets to vote?

I think that would be a better debate then the GT's.

Any takers?

I think a 2009 edition would be good debate, as long as one has been to a park outside of the Flagship (TM RayP).

I only posted the awards before someone else lost there lunch over them.
