So my brother decided he didn't want to do the marathon expedition to multiple parks in one day and didn't want to be away from his wife and kids overnight (for a King's Island trip) so we ended up at Cedar Point.

We arrived at the park at 10:00 AM and parked in the back lot by Soak City... seriously y'all... if you don't know this trick you're missing out on prime parking.  We were 3 rows back from the rear entrance to the park.

When we got to the park it was teasing rain and very shortly after decided the tease wasn't enough and that the sky needed to open up.  We hung around under an awning near Mean Streak until we decided a little water wasn't going to kill us and figured we'd walk around... amazingly Skyhawk was still running in the rain and since we were already wet from the rain decided we'd get in a couple rides while there was no line.  We rode Skyhawk twice before it broke down and they sent us on our way.

By now the rain had just about stopped so we headed over to Magnum to get in a ride.  Magnum is such a great coaster and has held up great over the years (seems Arrow Coasters have a knack for doing that).

The last year at Geauga Lake he and I rode Grizzly Run about 6 times so, while walking around, we decided we should ride CP's white water rafing ride... compared to Grizzly Run I have to give it to CP's if you're looking to get wet.  We weren't... and weren't prepared for just HOW wet we'd get... the next 2 hours was spent with soaked clothes.

Now, something to know about my brother... he regularly goes to CP but it one of those "back of the coaster train" guys.  I managed to get him on the front seat of Millenium Force and laughed my butt off when he screamed like a little girl looking down the lift hill while we waited for the rest of the train to crest.

We ended up also riding Gemini, Top Thrill, Disaster Transport, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Power Tower (x2) , Wildcat, Skyglide thing...

One of the high points of the day was riding the Corkscrew... it's been, what, 20-years since I rode GL's Corkscrew but still, even with my eyes closed I could have told you where on the track we were.

Through the entire day the only ride we waited more than 3 trains to get on was Wildcat... my brother complained the whole time waiting but I *needed* to ride that ride to remember my first coaster (GL's Zyclone/Wild Mouse).

By the end of the day my feet were literally falling off my ankles... the following day I had blisters that would have made anyone feel for me but we were by Mean Streak and it was pretty much a walk-on so we decided we couldn't leave the park without a couple more rides so we took advantage of the lack of lines on anything other than Top Thrill and Maverick to get in a couple late night trips on a nice woodie.  We did it twice on the front seat and after injesting about 10 pounds of bugs my brother (the back-set guy) suggested we do the next time in the back seat where there'll be less bug.  There was less bugs but I think my spine got shortened about 2 inches on that ride.

After that... it was time to go.

Overall, I have to say, it was a pretty decent time... except for the employees who stalked me to make sure I wasn't smoking in an unapproved area and the dimwit at the nacho stand everyone was very friendly.  Facilities were clean.  Lines (as I said) were almost non-existant.  I have to say... it was a good time and I'm glad we decided to go there against my reservations.

BTW: We were there long enough to catch the new addition, Starlight Experience, and honestly... they'd have been better off saving a few thousand dollars on Christmas lights and just putting in a few Cornhole boards.  What a joke!  I realize it's meant for kids to experience the "magic" but really... by the time it's dark enough to enjoy those kids are already in a sugar/ride coma.  Totally not worth ANYTHING!

The GL Wild Mouse and Zyclone were two separate coasters.

Zyclone was where Little Dipper was, and where the Corkscrew went in later.  It's now at the State Fairgrounds.  It's similar to the Wildcat, but the Wildcat is a Schwarzkopf Wildcat and the Zyclone was a Pinfari Z47.

Wild Mouse I've heard was over at the other end of Dipper, and is rusting at Chippewa.

Yep, I know... but we had a previous conversation regarding the confusion between the two as, apparently it was common to call the Zyclone a wild mouse.

Since my first coaster ride was late-70's it's obvious that I didn't get to ride The Wild Mouse at Geauga Lake but while my Grandmother was alive she'd have told you that you were crazy if you tried to tell her our first coaster ride together wasn't on the Wild Mouse.

I realize they're structurally different but at the same time they're similar enough that riding The Wildcat still reminded me of that first coaster ride.

As I probably mentioned in that previous conversation, my uncle and cousin also called the Zyclon the "Wild Mouse" around 1980 or so.

Oh, and I left out... when we got to the car my feet hurt so bad that I had to take off my shoes for the ride home (tell me about safety another time)... remember the getting soaked part, well apparently my boots managed to work like a terrarium and hold in all the water all day long.

I decided I didn't want wet socks anymore so I took them off and tossed them across the parking lot much to my brother's humor.

If you work the parking lot cleaning duty I apologize, after a couple beers it seemed pretty funny at the time.

We all know how much sports stadiums rob you for a beer...how bad are the prices at Cedar Point?

Take a stand against coasters that hurt or kill people.  Holiday World & Knotts Berry Farm, we are watching you!

I don't remember exactly what I paid but on my usual beer price sale I'd put it somewhere between The Flats and Strip Club...

My Beer Price Scale (Lowest to Highest)

Eagle's Lodge / VFW
Corner Bar / Shot n Beer Bar
Nicer Bar / Cheap Nightclub
Average Nightclub
The Flats / Warehouse District
Strip Club
Stadium
