Well said roost0502, no need to apologize for long Geauga Lake posts around here.

I think many people feel the way many of us do -- the anger over the unannounced closing is being joined by disappointment that the opportunity to save something on site at Geauga Lake might never be realized.

I wish Cedar Fair would see the situation as a win-win -- if some significant parts of Geauga Lake's history (Big Dipper, Carousel, Ballroom) are preserved on site, all the anger and continuing reluctance by some to attend or spend freely at Cedar Fair parks vanishes. They also completely avoid another round of negativity and media attention that will spontaneously emerge if the Big Dipper is demolished.

I think the land of GL needs something like Great Wolf or Kalahari.. add a big hotel with a reason to come, some golf cars and a few flats and bingo an Ohio destination. Unfortunately.. this was Cedar Fair's BIGGEST MISTAKE. I don't think they will ever admit it either.

Actually letting Kinzel extend his contract was CF's biggest mistake! Not sure everyone knows but I despise that man.  Mad
