Way to go Holiday World! Maybe dick can learn a thing or two from Mr. Koch.

I'm going to jump in before the GL savages do.

I could see Dick learning something, but it wouldn't be until after he retires.  Plus the image he leaves with a lot of people, the person that takes over his place would have ALOT of work to do to reverse that image.

You rang?

That is quite an accomplishment. I don't see how they did that this year with the recession, the cool and rainy weather, fewer operating days in this or that quarter, increased competition from video games, etc.

So congratulations to Holiday World, and also to the many local fairs that also saw attendance increases this year.

HW has a funny situation:
Attendance keeps going up, so they need to build something new to help with capacity, and in return, attendance keeps going up, so they need to build something else to help with capacity....

I'm not sure when it's supposed to open, but Honda is building a car-assembly plant in Eastern Indiana, so with those new jobs created there, that should give HW another good boost of new patrons.

I applaud Mr. Koch for listening to his guests. In return he and his park get rewarded.

Get ready for the CF excuse machine to kick in this November when they say that attendance was flat due to the recession, the cool and rainy weather, fewer operating days in this or that quarter, increased competition from video games, blah blah blah.

CF attendance will be up marginally this year due to all the discounts and other incentives they had throughout the summer. This is not to say revenue will be up because it wont. You didn't hear it from me but this has been one of the worst Halloween seasons in recent history. All but a few days were above 60 and sunny. The one special event was well attended but many guests left right after it.

Way to go Richard, you sure know what the public wants, and that is for you to step down!

I am glad that I was one of those people that helped them earn their record attendance figures. Holiday World might not be the biggest or baddest park in the country, but I tell you what. They have class!

When you see the owners out at the front gate greeting their guests and actually remember you, that's a sign of good start to your day.

Yummy food, yeah they got it.

Amazing roller coasters, oh yeah baby!

Nice water park...yeah that rocks too!

Free drinks, sun screen and rafts all day everyday? Who else does that, yeah that's right, NO ONE!

So, when you add all of those factors into one gooey mix you get one amazing park that is worth every single penny you spend in there!

I will be back to Holiday World. I keep saying it and I will say it yet again, I would rather drive 7 hours to go to Holiday World then drive two hours to Cedar Point. And I was less then 5 miles from there this weekend and could care less to go near there.

Hmmmm - Kinzelknew wrote that three weeks ago, can he predict the future?

Its funny how Holiday world, Waldameer, and many other parks can have an increase in attendance even with the poor weather and economy, but CF parks decline, how can that be???

Hahahaha - bye bye Kinzel!

What was the one special event??

I was only at Halloweekends twice...Sunday Oct 11 and Sunday Nov 1.

Neither day was that busy....Oct 11 was a little busier than Nov 1.  Both days, most rides were walk ons.  I had thought it seemed like a slower season to me, too.  No complaints on my part, though.  I hate it when it's crowded, but attendance like this cannot be good for business, or Kinzel.
