Someone showed this on Theme Park Review and its too cool to share. It is a video of a double looping side friction coaster and its dated 1952. Notice just the cage over the riders. Centrifugal force is all there is to hold both the car on the track and the riders in their seats. Shocked

Great find VGplay, I know I have seen some single loopers from the 20's but this sit eh first Ive seen that one.

So Geauga Lakes wasn't the first double looping coaster! All I can say is OUCH!

Wow, that is interesting about that coaster. The bad thing is the incredible G-Forces on those earlier wooden loopers they can be 4 times more intense than the Space Shuttle taking off! thats is basically over 12 Gs!! That force can easily can break your neck!
