Now this is very interesting.  2008 pass information has been posted on the Geauga Lake website but all that is there seems to be the Platinum Pass information.  Why no passes for just Geauga Lake yet?  Do you think they will announce their plans before they begin selling passes.  Maybe so.  I bet they realized that if they take out things it would not be fair to sell passes that are advertising things that won't be there.  That is my prediction.  Even if we are losing things, it was still nice of them to be a little considerate and not sell passes yet.
Heres in info in a link but you can get to it right from the front page on the Geauga Lake website.

Maybe it's just a promotional thing, too.

It would be even better if they announced closures in advance, if possible.  Kennywood recently did that, reports hit the media about a week ahead.  It gave people one last chance to ride it and probably resulted in increased admissions.

Parks usually only announce the "come and get one last ride" if the ride is going to be torn down to never operate all together.

If we lose some of our coasters, they most likely will have another home elsewhere.

When I went to Astroworld in Oct of 2005, I made sure to ride all the major rides because many of those would never be put up ever again. (Serpent, Viper, Cyclone, Log Flume, etc.)

Yeah that is what it looks like. When did they announce the 2007 season passes?

Doesn't look like a promotional thing to me.  It looks like a ploy to get people to buy the pass, only to find out when spring comes, the next closest park that is operating will be Cedar Point.

Get it??

I think you guys are a little over analyzing this... They figure that you'd take them up on their offer for a free VIP jacket with Platinum Pass prior to close, so you can go ahead and purchase them. As with the season passes you don't get anything for purchasing them early...

We need to realize this.  Geauga Lake is not the only park who does not have prices posted.  Dorney Park also only has the Platinum Pass prices posted on their website.  Cedar Fair is just strange like that and they dont announce everything at the same time.  I don't think this season pass issue is something to be worried about just yet.

Today I emailed the park and suggested that if 2008 pricing had not been established yet, could they put that note up somewhere or in the FAQ's.

No response as of yet.
