RANDOM THOUGHTS, THUNDERHAWK COMES DOWN, AND ONLINE PETITION

I would like to first apologize for not updating the front page like I should have. As with everyone who had made the park a special place in their lives, I have felt like a big part of me just died. Even for a short time I felt my interest and desire somewhat wane. I should have been more adamant and involved in the cause to at least save Big Dipper this past week.  I have added the banner above to direct people to Matt Schwartz's site.  I feel our time is very limited right now and action needs to be taken very soon to save the classic ride.

If you've been reading the de-construction thread over in the forums, photos have been posted showing Thunderhawk already being dismantled and pieces parked in the lot.  I want to thank those contributors for helping document the beginning of what will be a difficult time.  If you think the announcement of the closing was bad, going out there to see it actually come down will be even harder to grasp.

If you haven't done so, be sure to sign the petition forum member X-Flight 182 set up. It has had a very good response. Even though Cedar Fair has stated that no petition will get them to change their minds, at least sign it and voice your opinion regarding the despicable decision and how Cedar Fair went about doing it in secret.  Take time to read other's opinions as well as there are some very good comments out there.

Coasterdad and I had been bombarded with plenty of e-mails from people this past week who wanted to express their sorrow over losing the park, some coming from people who no longer live in Ohio but grew up with the park.  It has been amazing just how much this park meant to people and the memories they made there.  I make it a point to answer each and every e-mail I get but due to the volume at times I didn't get to answer every single one. If you sent me an e-mail but did not receive a reply, I apologize.  Between dealing with the news and all the e-mails, things did get a bit overwhelming for me.  I do want to thank everyone for expressing their thoughts with me.  It is appreciated.
