Cedar Fair To Open New Park in 2009! · Quote From what i have heard and im not going to name my sources quite yet, but rumor has it that Cedar Fair is looking to buy the old Six Flags New Orleans Site. coasterdad1971 Beaver Land Mine Ride User is Offline Joined: 04 Jul 2007 Posts: 98	Posted: Mon Oct 01, 2007 9:40 pm    Post subject: SFNO · Quote Actually the New Orleans site is leased from the city of New Orleans.  Ray Nagin intends to hold Six Flags to the lease.  However, Six Flags stated they have received only around 1/3 of the needed insurance settlement.  Given that plus the fact the park didnt draw well anyhow, they really have no interest in reopening it.  They are still trying to break the lease.  I honestly cant see Cedar Fair wanting anything to do with it.  Besides, New Orleans, 2 years later, still has bigger fish to fry.
