|

From what i have heard and im not going to name my sources quite yet, but rumor has it that Cedar Fair is looking to buy the old Six Flags New Orleans Site. Names are still being discussed but heard that the most popular one is Cedar Fair's Recovery Zone.

Even if it was, what do I care?
It still doesn't help our little friend down in Bainbridge. _________________ 2008 - Comet Hollow Group (Hersheypark)

Actually if it were to happen, i'm sure that this would go down as the worst decision that CF has ever made...surpasing Closing Geauga Lake by so many levels... _________________ "Despite low attendence at Cedar Point Amusement Park, CEO Dick Kinzel decicded to close down its sister park, Geauga Lake, in hopes for more attenence." |

Stranger things have happened.
I don't think this will, though. |

Haha, I'd like to see them TRY.
Busch, Universal, and Disney would eat them ALIVE
I mean we all know how well Cypress Gardens is doing, and they're not a CF owned park (yet...but aren't they up for sale?) /end sarcasm _________________ Familiarity breeds contempt....Now remember that kiddies! |

| are you kidding! Cedar Fair is a lot of debt. Buying an old destroyed amusement park I think is the last thing there worried about. |

| Speaking of SFNO, did it open this year, or are they still cleaning up from HK? |

^ SFNO didn’t open this year also they are removing batman the ride from that park and moving it to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and renaming it Goliath. As of now the parks future is uncertain. _________________

| You can pretty much say that park won't ever open again, at least under SF rule. |

| I think the topic title should be changed. This really won't be a new park, because it's already been new. |

Unless SF sold that property to CF, they're in the process of razing it, to be sold... (from my semi-reliable source) _________________ 2008 - Mantis Crew

If it's already destroyed, why would Cedar Fair want it? It's more fun to buy an open park and destroy it yourself. _________________ Always remember Geauga Lake...

| Actually the New Orleans site is leased from the city of New Orleans. Ray Nagin intends to hold Six Flags to the lease. However, Six Flags stated they have received only around 1/3 of the needed insurance settlement. Given that plus the fact the park didnt draw well anyhow, they really have no interest in reopening it. They are still trying to break the lease. I honestly cant see Cedar Fair wanting anything to do with it. Besides, New Orleans, 2 years later, still has bigger fish to fry. |
