Im with SF on breaking the lease. I mean the park was in shambles. 99% of the rides were submereged for months and it would cost SF millions to even get it to sub par levels. Plus, the New Orleans economy isn't really like it was back before Katrina. But go ahead Dick...if you think you can make it work...I mean...just look at how well you turned around Geauga Lake. _________________ "Despite low attendence at Cedar Point Amusement Park, CEO Dick Kinzel decicded to close down its sister park, Geauga Lake, in hopes for more attenence." |

Oddly enough, that's exactly why I think it could happen. six Flags wasn't always making bad decisions and apparently, IMO, now it's CF's turn to make them.

buying SFNO would be like re-building GL...which they never should have torn down, just downsized a bit more. |

Actually, if CF does buy SFNO, then It makes CF look even more wrong for closing Geauga Lake, as it was a perfectly good running park! Why, as a company, would you close a good park in a bad economy, then buy and re-open SFNO! This just further's my reason's to think that they did buy GL to close it!(They are GL Hater's)
It is what it is! Every stupid move they make, just makes the truth come out more and more with the GL closing. Could the sign's ever be more clear to us that they bought Geauga Lake to close it! Geauga Lake would have made alot of money this passed summer with a bad economy, so why close it and take a loss if you need money! I will tell you why!
They had to choose between keeping Cedar Point or Geauga Lake as there primary focus with the economy the way it was going and knew that if GL was to stay open, that it could really hurt CP as the attendance was always dropping year-to-year before this! So they chose to close GL in an attempt to keep Cedar Point's hope's alive! I don't think it's working though, as they are moving there headquater's to canada at another park,Why? _________________ (ACFG)Anti-Cedar Fair Group |

I don't think they have the money or the access to enough credit to buy any more parks, the focus for some time to come will be on what they already have.
Despite all the bad moves in the past with Geauga Lake, Cedar Fair can still get a lot of good PR by being part of preserving the Big Dipper and keeping the Carousel in the area.
I know people who have stayed away from Cedar Point because the way the Geauga Lake closing was handled who would most likely be back if we get some good news on those two rides. _________________ "It's a very special ride. The only rumor CF related that is getting any kind of mention right now is that Carowinds is getting something big in 2010. Their log flume is being removed as we speak.
And has anyone noticed that Carolina Cobra is being painted the same colors as Head Spin would have been if they went through with the repaint? _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |
